Is something going on with Cindy's?

Every time we have gone to Disney we have unsucessfully tried to get a reservation for the character breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table. This time I called (not even on the first possible day) and was able to get reservations for a group of 19 people on January 21. We usually go in fall/winter during the slower periods and in the past have tried for a much smaller group. Is something strange going on there? Have they made changes that I should be concerned about? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

not sure when every time you've gone to disney is. in feb 2006, prices were raised as the experience was changed and it also became 2 TS credits for those on the DDP. for those not on the DDP, they get to pay in full at time of booking. so there are a lot of deterrents that make booking CRT quite a bit easier. the least of which is probably the 6 month marker.

to be honest- there is almost ABSOLUTELY NOONE!!!!!! at disney jan 21- disney is crowded till about jan 3, then everyone checks out

We've never been on DDP, but the last times I have tried have been for Dec 2006, Dec 2004 and Feb 2003 and have called on the first possible days to reserve. It's good to know they haven't changed the food or anything. I can't wait to go! Thanks!

From what I've read/heard, there's a few reasons why the CRT ADRs are now easier to get.

1. The prices went up.
2. They added another meal (lunch, I think), so that increased availability by 50%.
3. There are other princess dining/viewing options now available that some people feel are better value, or they want to try.
4. Many people call 180 out from their arrival date to make ressies for their first 10 days (the very confusing 180+10 rule), but because of the popularity of the CRT in the past, Disney now holds back some ADRs until 180 days out from the actual dates, so if you call 180 days prior to arrival and can't get the time/date you want, you should try again 180 days from the actual date you want to dine and more spots will probably be available.
5. Many people don't like the idea of pre-paying for something or being charged if they can't make the ADR without cancelling at least 48 hours beforehand.

My sister was convinced (based on previous trips - the last one being in May 2005) that we could not get a CRT ADR for our trip in August, but I called and made it without any trouble. She's thrilled and I'm sure my niece will love the experience.

We just had breakfast there last Thursday & it was great!!
It was DD13's b-day that day.

(It was raining that day though, & water was dripping onto our table (right on DS9). I thought it odd that one of the most popular places on earth to dine would have a leak!

I just called this past Monday evening and was able to make lunch ADR's @ CRT no problem. I was, however able to make my ADR for 180's prior to the first day of my stay, not necessarily 180 days before we wanted to eat @ CRT. I think adding lunch has made this a not so coveted ADR and we will be going in Feb, which is typically a slower time. We had breakfast there in
2004, but this will be our first lunch. Good luck!

Hey - we'll be having breakfast there the same morning! Ther's only 4 of us though...

Thanks for the great input everyone! It really makes sense when you put all of the details together (increased prices, adding additional meals and other locations, slower time of year). My group is the in-laws and their extended family. I was the instigator of this so I wanted to make sure everyone has a great time, especially the first-timers. Regardless, I am super excited :cool1: !

Shannon, our ADR is for 10:20 so if you see a large group of people, that's us!

Have a great weekend!
