Another child related question! When we went to Epcot in 2005 my DH and I went on Soarin' and loved it. My DS who was 2.5 at the time stayed with his aunt.

We're looking at returning in October and given DS will be 2 years older (and is over 42in) wonder if the ride will be OK for him or too daunting? Has anyone taken their younger children on it? Thanks!

My daughter, who was 4 this year loves it! She loved it last year too, when she was 3. Your son will be fine! It's a great ride!

Great to hear! We thought it was a blast and even though we know DS enjoys flying in airplanes, I wasn't sure how the ride may be viewed from someone his age.

My DD who is four as well loved this ride! We are hoping her sister is tall enough for the ride in January.

anyone have a bad experiance with this ride and their 4 year old?

My 4 year old is officially tall enough to ride... he is a silly gemini and alternates between thrilled and daring to chicken..

this is one ride you cant comfort your little one... big kid just in case

DS was 4.5 last year and it was his favorite ride. One of the few that we actually waited in line for more than once.

We went in June and my just turned three son loved the ride. This is saying something becasue I think he cried on just about every other ride we went on!!!!:rotfl2: He's young, but very, very tall, so we wanted to take advantage of it and ride rides as a family! But most of the time my DH took DS6 on a ride and I stayed with DS3, but he really did like Soarin. He even was moving his legs to the music.

My son is 5 and he LOVED it! We rode 3 times.

Just make sure you use the extra strap between the legs when buckling them it. DS kept leaning out with arms spread like he was flying. :scared1:

DD turned 4 on this trip and absolutely loved Soarin. She rode once with us and once with SIL.

Mine will be 5 but is sooo cautious. She does not like anything 3D becuase it just gets too close. What do you think? How high do you get lifted up in the air?

If you are in row one you are pretty high- about 30 feet in the air I guess? but if you are in row 3 not that high at all. And it is NOT 3-D.(there is one scene on the golf course- but really not 3-d)
My kids love it. the 4 year old loved it the 9 year old loved it the 13 year old loved it and the 41 year old loved it.
But I agree that ds4 favorite ride is test track. He LOVES it. We rode it 8 times last trip.(thankfully had the magical fastpass at Epcot- got one free trip through the fastpass line)

Thanks for letting me know about the extra strap; I may have indavertently missed it otherwise...

All of you seem to have had positive experiences withe the ride, so I guess that there's no harm in trying. Hopefully DS won't make me regret it!

Would love to go on it with my DD 6 and DS 4...does it make you feel 'travel sick' at all? We are all a bit prone... what do you think?

It caused me no motion sickness at all. I get sick just riding in the car. It is one of Disney's best, do not miss it!

That's great to hear...thank you! I certainly will be Soarin' in 2 weeks time!!!

No worries! I get motion sick with everything! The busses kill me, and I can't even watch the carosel. Soarin' didn't bother me at all, and we rode 3 times. It is my new favorite ride. Please don't miss it!:goodvibes
