Is September a good month to visit?

We were considering a trip in mid-September 2005 (myself, DW, DS9, DD6 and DD 3months), and I was wondering how September is. I'm more concerned about the weather there (potential hurricanes?) than anything, b/c we typically go in July so I'm used to the heat as well as the crowds. Also wondering about the park hours, are they drastically shorter in Sept. or are they still on the typical summer schedule (i.e. 9 or 10 PM closings)?

We were there Sept 15-22, 2004. The park hours were

MK: Open until 8:00, except on Sat & Tues, which were 9:00
EPCOT: WS open until 9:00; FW closed at 7:00 (I believe)
MGM: closed at 8:00 every day
AK: closed at 5:00 every day


We got very lucky & were there in between hurricanes & it only rained one day.

I was at WDW during all the hurricanes in Sept., and even during the bad weather, Disney was still amazing, they had things to do at the resorts and Mickey, Minnie and everyone else came to visit!

I absolutely love going in September. It makes such a difference as far as the crowds are concerned. I had gone in June one year and we were waiting on line for hours to get onto rides. It is definately worth the chance of hurricanes to go in September.

Every year. we check in on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend and spend two weeks.
The hours to the parks are shorter, but I really feel that is not an issue as you do not wait in lines. So even with the short hours, we have never had a problem not getting to do everything we wanted to.

This past September, with all of the hurricanes, we actually had the best weather we have ever had in September. We got caught in one rain shower for about five minutes and that was it.

We love september because of the crowds. After Labor day it very well be the least crowded month of the year. However depending on where you are coming from please know its still very hot in September. No break in the heat yet down here for us in Florida.

Annette! I remember a brief conversation with you on another thread! My wife and I were honeymooning from the 13 until the 23rd! We were right between both hurricanes too! (Obviously!)
