Would this restaurant be scary for a 4yo? I don't know how loud/scary the movies are that they show while you're eating.

Thanks. :thumbsup2

We were there 7/7-7/16 went to sci-fi with ds4 he had no problem not very loud. Some of the movie trailers were slightly wierd but they also played some cartoons, strangely Tom and Jerry? :confused3

My nephew was 4 when he first went and was fine and niece was 2. I think it depends on the child. The movies/sound isn't horribly loud and if you are chatting you can just talk around them. It is like dusk in there...not realy super dark.

I was wondering this... I don't have kids so I have absolutely no idea. But the thought did go through my head while we were there that I'm not sure I would want my kids sitting and watching this...

I can't imagine a problem unless you have an extraordinarily sensitive child; I know one of all the children I've known who might have been disturbed, but she couldn't watch cartoons.

We took our twins here when they were two years old. They really liked it and did not get scared. Of course they were not afraid of anything we did that week. I agree all kids are different though.

My kids laughed at the old black and white movie trailers. They seem so silly now. I'm sure at the time they were top notch though.

Oh the Tom and Jerry cartoon is on there because they are in space. Sci Fi!

We attempted SCI-FI 2 years ago. My son was 6 at the time and couldn't wait to get out of there. We ended up getting our food to go. My daughter who was 5 at the time wasn't phased a bit..except when we told her we were leaving. She was quickly consoled with a glow in the dark ice cube. He went on space mountain, big thunder mtn railroad, test track etc.. but SCI-FI just wasn't for him.

Our family enjoyed it last year. Service was a little slow, but a good time was had by all. Kiddies thought it very cool to sit in a "car" and watch silly movies while eating. :cool1:

We haven't been since my DS was 6 and DD 3, give or take a year, and they are insisting we go back on our Dec trip. They loved it.

Our nine-year-old was scared by it. He seemed bothered by all the invasion by martians and what not. He was awake all night and had bad dreams afterwards. We were surprised. So, we won't go back.

My DS, 5 at the time, did not like it. He could not wait to leave. Although, he liked the milkshake. DS is a little sensitive. It was the dark environment of an old school drive inn theatre. Coupled with the content.

Our DD, 3 at the time, was not bothered by it.

I don't particullay care for it either. I feel that they have a good thing here, but need to modify it. I would love to see 30 minute short movies instead of mini trailers from days gone by. There is no reason that they could not produce old time shortmovies on scifi themes.

DS was almost 3 when we were last there. He really liked it all. It's not super loud like a movie theatre. It's just kind of "loud" back ground noise. It's also not totally dark either. (like someone else said) It's more dusk. I think it depends on the child too though. DS loved Sci Fi..but HATED Haunted Mansion. (He had loved it a few months earlier!!)

Have a great trip.

We took two children once who were anxious about how dark it was. They didn't like the dark. It took us a little persuading to get them to go inside. Once we got seated and they got milk shakes they settled down and were fine

My DD was four when she first went to it, and loved it. In fact, it is now a must for every trip. It is already scheduled for our next trip.

The only thing scary about the SCI-FI drive in are the prices on the menu.
Horrible food!!!!! Great Milkshakes though!
