Hello, fellows DISers!
I was :surfweb: and I noticed there are few and fewer pics of guest decorated windows and doors...
As I'm going to WDW for the very first time in next September I really wanted to do everything I can to make these 20 days more magical than ever... and creating a personalised window and door decor for our rooms in the PO riverside , maybe with a change next to the MNSSHP:3dglasses at 09/14 was a thing I was considering...
:confused:Guests decorating rooms, doors and windows became demodèe and outdated???
TIA!

I've only heard of this practice, never actually saw it while staying at CSR, the Poly, ASSp and BLT. We saw the cutest towel animals in the window of an ASSp resort but I don't think a guest did that. What types of things do people put on their doors?

We were at Pop July 2-6 and saw many decorated windows. In fact, we decorated, too.

We'll have 2 rooms at POP during Thanksgiving week and I'd love some ideas combining a Disney & Thanksgiving theme.

When we decorate our windows and door, we use gel gems, window clings, suction cup hooks, and magnet strips. None of those leave any marks or residue.

Weren't they(WDW) purposing extra cleaning fees to those guests who left with heavily decorated windows?

They were, but the only one I heard of getting it was someone who used a washable marker to write on her windows. They were meant for that use, but Disney did not like it. Probably too easy for some ding dong to get the same idea and use regular markers.

We have gone the last 3 years and we have decorated our windows each time.It was fun to see people's reactions as we walked into the room. It was also very quick and easy to locate our room! :thumbsup2
We will be there in Sept (CSR) and we plan to decorate again!
Good luck and happy planning.

I decorated my room at POR for the 4th of July! Mousekeeping even added to it, taking my American flags I had left on the table and having towel animals hold them! So cute!

This is what it looked like when I first did it....

And this is what it looked like after lovely Georgina (mousekeeping) added to it!

P.S. I thought I read somewhere on these boards that people were getting "in trouble" for using tape to decorate so I managed to do all of that with not one piece of tape, just in case! Didn't want to break the rules!

GREAT WINDOW and I saw it :cool2: as we were at POR before Moving to the Poly!
Its a Small World...........after all........

NikkiLovesWDW, You did a great job! What a nice tribute to our great Nation on it's birthday.

When I do see this, it's usually at the value resorts or Fort Wilderness. The people at the campground can really decorate. They do a great job especially around holidays.

Lovely to hear and see ppl still decorate windows and doors!:3dglasses
I was planning to use suction holders in the glass and maybe some magic tape, easy to take off from glass, some magnets and strings to hold things and that's it...no hot glue or superbond :lmao:
And I fully intend to take it all apart before leaving the room, no such thing as leave 'the mess behind':rolleyes1
As I never ever had the chance to celebrate Halloween I want to use this September vacation and our MNSSHP at 09/14 as the theme!
Thanks you all for the incentive!
