Is resort fee at Dolphin optional?

It seems I had read somewhere that you could decline the resort fee at the Dolphin and simply not get the "perks" - which I don't really care for anyway. Does anyone know if this is true or if I'm dreaming? Thanks for the help!

But sadly, it is a thing of the past . The resort fee can no longer be waved.
