Is price bridging still an option for upgrading tickets after entry?

I just booked a trip that starts in 2 weeks - holy lack of planning batman!

We are going to go ahead and get APs but I think I can save some money by buying tickets from Undercover Tourist and then upgrading once we get there. At least, if I can still price bridge. I haven't done it in over a year.

So, if the answer to price bridging is a yes, do I buy the 4 day hoppers for a $29 per ticket savings (times 5 people) or do I buy the 8 day (what we actually need for this trip) and save $18 per ticket (times 5). The downside is that I can't book more than 4 days of FP+ if only book the 4 day ticket. But at this point, are there any FP+ even going to be available?

If it were me, I would buy whichever ones save you the most money from the gate prices; sounds like the 4-day hoppers in your case. When we did this, we did it on our 2nd Park day by stopping at the Guest Relations outside of the Park. We had 7-day tickets and we paid the difference between the 7-day ticket and the Annual Pass. It worked out beautifully!

You can.
Nothing has changed it that regard.
As you indicated, use the tickets at least one time to enter a theme park before upgrading.

Thanks to both of you! Off to buy tickets now!

The last time we did the upgrade, which is usually twice a year, I was told that they now prefer that the tickets NOT be used at a gate, just bring the ticket to guest relations outside the park and they will give you the full price of the ticket. I have actually done this the last few times. It's always hit and miss, of course, as you can get a CM that doesn't know what they're doing, but as long as you KNOW the prices and stick to your guns, you'll eventually win out. Good luck!

Sounds much more like just another CM making up rules.
