O.k. I think we have pretty much decided on staying at the poly. My dilema now is in what type of room. I think we would like to stay concierge level which I realize is quite a bit more expensive but I really like the idea of drinks and snacks available all day as well as someone to help with ps. But is laggon view really worth 600.00 more for the week than a garden view?? I have to say the thought of seeing the castle from my room makes my heart skip a beat but my husband thinks we could walk down to the beach and look and save 600.00. So if you had a choice of a regular lagoon view room or a garden concierge which would you choose? Also is there anyone who thinks just get a standard room no concierge and save the $$$? Decisions ,decisions:crazy:

Once you do the concierge it will be very hard to not go back:D Our first stay was in a regular GV room and we really enjoyed it. I even keep thinking we should do a regular room this trip to save some money. I just can't do it. We always get a GV concierge room and are very happy with it. We get our nice LV every time we go to the lounge. We were going to do LV once be we were in a second floor room. I did not think it was worth the extra money to not have a balcony or patio. We switched over to a GV room. If I'm paying for a view I want to be able to look out and enjoy it. I don't feel that I want to chance that again, so I always book a GV concierge room. I do think if you are lucky enough to get an unobstructed view on the 1st or 3rd floor then it would be great. Worth the extra money??????? The GV rooms have a nice view of the quiet pool.

I don't know much about the poly rooms. DO Only the third floor rooms have balcony and first floor rooms a patio?? And is this in all the buildings or just concierge level??

We went to WDW, first trip, in May. We stayed cl, GV. I thought that cost a pretty penny. I have to say we had a fantastic trip. the family loved the resort. I now wish that I would have payed the extra and had a LV. I believe that would have been the iceing on the cake. If you think you can swing it $$$ then I would say, go for it! If it's just too much $$$ then the previous poster is right. You get a great view from the lounge, while swimming in the pool......I'm just thinking that the view from your own room would be so special.

Have a great trip. Enjoy the lounge. Chef Dick is awesome. In fact the whole staff rocks!.

The memory of walking in the room and seeing the castle, watching the fireworks over the castle from my balcony and being in the room and just casually glancing out the window to that view is (as the commercial says) priceless.

I spent hours out on the balcony enjoying the view. I say go for it.

Just got off the phone w/ Disney Reservations and have booked a concierge lagoon view room for Aug. 9 thru Aug. 14, 2004. We have stayed three times at the Poly, always concierge. Two times we had a garden view and it was very nice. The last time we had the lagoon view, 3rd floor. Well, worth the money for us and to be able to sit on my balcony and watch the fireworks is awesome. I'm hooked on concierge and lagoon view. Wouldn't go any other route. Good Luck w/ your choice. Either way you will have a great resort stay.

I booked a GVC room last year. However, when we checked in we found that we had been upgraded to a lagoon view for free! When we walked in the room, parted the curtains and saw the castle looking back at us, we were hooked! After seeing the smiles on my kids' faces as they raced to the patio each night to watch the EWP or see the fireworks, I can't imagine staying anywhere else. This year when we went to book there was no question -- we are definitely going to be in LVC!

Do you still get the good Castle views with a regular LV without concierge? We have ressies at WL, depending on whether discounts come out, we might upgrade to the Poly. So, how do you folks like staying in buildings separate from the main building? One thing I like about WL is being so close to all the resort features.

What is the cheapest rate you ever got for Poly LV conceirge?

What is the cheapest rate you ever got for Poly at all (regular room - water or garden view)?

I'd love to stay there. I might put it in my budget. I just didn't know if the $$$ was worth it. We would be going for 2 weeks and that just seems like a lot of extra money to spend just for a room.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I've stayed at the PR twice CL with a lagoon view. Yes, it is a lot more money, but like the commercial says:

Two Dole whips, $8

Dinner for two at Beaches and Cream, $30

Polynesian Lagoon View Room, Priceless

:)

I'm not sure I'd ever stay at the polynesian without getting a lagoon view. It's the icing on the cake.

The last time we were there, we were on the third floor, so we left the drapes open at night when we went to bed. It was so incredible to watch teh castle as we drifted off.

Hi we stayed Poly concierge GV our last trip. It's nice if the extra cost won't put you in debt or prevent you from doing other things you want to do while there. Getting the LV is definately worth the extra money. The next time we go, we will probably do Tahiti LV. That building is a great location. Don't get me wrong we loved concierge, but it isn't necessary for us. We will be trying concierge at all the resorts. I think the view is more important than the food offerings. The help with ps is great if you make your ressie more than 90 days out (which we didn't).
