I had made ADRs for our family. Then I took the "surcharge" food rate, did the math, and figured out that for me, DD5 and DS4, plus tip, it'll cost $70 for breakfast!:scared1:
The only reason that I haven't cancelled yet is it works SOOOO well into our plans. we have a big group dinner at 50's primetime at 4, so a late breakfast/early dinner at 10:30 fits perfectly.
Plus, it will save me from the need to find Mickey Waffles elsewhere!:rotfl:
So, how great is the character interaction?

the character interaction was fantastic when we went (oct 06). my kids were 4, 2, 2, and I think it was their favorite character meal. they loved playing/dancing with leo and especially june, as well as jojo and goliath, of course. june was really really sweet with our d, and my s practically hero worshipped leo...the pics I got were awesome. :)

honestly it could end up saving you money in the long run...its a very filling/plentiful breakfast, so you probably won't even need a snack before your dinner adr. we did chef mickeys the same day (but at 5) and we were only just starting to get hungry by that time (breakfast was at 10).

We were there in October and again in February.

The food was okay in October, and better in February. They added a breakfast burrito bar, that's why I liked it better in Feb. ;)

The character interaction was great both times. My daughter literally hugged Goliath for 90 seconds, she was just snuggled in, and it was hilarious, Goliath wouldn't let her go.

JoJo was great both times, and so were the Little Einsteins characters. The two times we were there, the restaurant wasn't very full, so we actually saw some characters more than once each time, and they had lots of time to spend with the kids.

While I like other breakfasts better food-wise (Boatwright's, Boma, CRT), this has become a must-do for us, because the interaction is so great. Oh, and did I mention the breakfast burrito?

I agree the character interactions were great. We went in October 2006 for my daughter who was 3 at the time and loves Jo Jo, but my sons were 9,9 8 and 5 also had a great time. They have asked to go back and play games with the Little Einstiens again. Food was good and there were alot of choices and they did not make us feel rushed like alot of character meals. Lori

Where is this breakfast, I did not see it on the lists of Character Meals I have. And is it the characters as the Playhouse Disney show? I am going in December with a 4 y/o & 2 y/o. They would love that!

Its at Hollywood & Vine

I have to say- I agree the character interaction is fantastic. The kids have a blast, there is dancing and singing and it is a really fun meal for the kids. The food is eh- but I don't think you go into for the food. If your kids are really into the characters, this is easily worth it... In other thoughts- breakfast alone lets say at the food court at a hotel is going to run you a pretty penny as well so you could look at it that way!

We are a family of 6 and it has now priced itself out of the running for us. But it was one of our favorites. The food is just eh. but the show is fun and the characters are very friendly and spend time. You don't feel rushed - so if your kids are really into Jojo and Goliath(my favorite costumed character at Disney he is just so cute!) or the Einsteins it is a must do. For us it would be closer to around $175 so it is not worth it for us. (my 13 and 10 year old would have to pay adult prices.)In fact we are protesting the holiday surcharge and not doing ANY of the buffets this time.

Characters were fun but food taste and selection not anywhere near chef mickeys. They do have Mickey Waffles though. We were on the free DDP in Sept. but if we would have had to pay oop I would have been disappointed. Of course just our opinion but you will find plenty to fill you up if that is your goal.

It's always been a mystery why the Hollywood & Vine breakfast is one of the most expensive character breakfasts. The food is less than memorable but really it's the usual fare and not bad or anything.

That said, we go every time we go to Disney, my dd loves JoJo and it's a must for us. They have activities for the kids where they sing songs and get up and dance. The kids love it. It's less busy than CP or CM which also makes for a better character experience. Worth it - yes, if your kids love the characters there otherwise no.
