AHHHH, why did you have to post that? I had to take a little sneak even though I PROMISED myself I'd try to hold off until October (I did the same thing with EE when I rode it only a few weeks later! ).

I'm just kidding, thanks for the link! The beginning and little bit that I saw looks awesome!

I rode pirates today and it was incredilble !!!!!!!!

I won't give away too many details but there is a fog effect that is out of this world !

Captain Jack Sparrow makes 3 apperances in the ride and the are the most life like AA's I have seen. we left today but waited around for them to open Pirates. Next Saturday we will stop again on our way back to Jersey. It doesn't seem like a vacation unless we end our trip at magic kingdom!!!!

How did the soft opening work? Did it last all day? i'd like to go tomorrow, but i don't know if i can talk my family into waiting around all day. ...i sure would if i could.

OMG.......we rode POTC today also. My family and I were going to the magic kingdom completely expecting the ride to be closed and magically , it was open. I saw a rush of people heading over to the ride so I believe it was not open all day, but I could be wrong. The ride times area near mainstreet and the map both said that it was still closed for refurbishing. We rode around 6pm, maybe 5:30, you know how time flies by when you are at WDW .

The ride was great.....the updated beginning (fog effect) was so good. And Jack Sparrow seemed so life like. My favorite part is the very last scene, shhhh.....I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't been on it yet. They have also redesigned the gift shop area and it seems to flow much better.

For those of you who have ridden the new version......was it just me or did the dip seem longer?

I read earlier today that the soft opening did indeed start today (it had not yesterday when we were there) so DD and I headed over this evening after the afternoon storms had passed, and kept our fingers crossed that it would still be open!

We arrived a bit before 8:00, headed back to Frontierland on the train, grabbed a FP for BTMR and headed to POC. We got in line around 8:15, and the wait was just about 20 minutes.

It was great - the changes were great, and Jack Sparrow is a nice addition!!!

I agree the gift shop is much better, we bought our Pirate antenna topper that will replace red white and blue Mickey head on Wednesday!

We had a good rest of the night (well DD enjoyed herself - we rode BTMR once with the FP, and then she rode five more times standby within an hour!!! I listened to Spectromagic (watched it through the trees,) and watched the fireworks while I waited for her!!!) Did JC (first time at night) and she rode the magic carpets!

We left just as the second Spectromagic was about to get started - but DD was too tired to stay - it takes longer to get out of the park, to the TTC, to the car then it takes to drive home! I immediately jumped in the pool when I came home to unwind a bit before Dising!!!

Same here!!!!! We live so close, but since it takes forever to leave the park the time drags on and on.

We were bad and stayed until midnight. Just had to stop in the bakery and get some treats .

We didn't get home until almost 1am.......but being able to ride POTC made it all worthwhile.

For those of you who have ridden the new version......was it just me or did the dip seem longer?

Anybody???? The dip is the only thing I really don't like about this ride...if it's longer, I need to prepare myself! (Not to mention the fact that DH will absolutely slaughter me if I chicken out- it's his favorite ride!)

If it's opened, I would say try to get there as soon as the ride opens (however, be aware that the ride opens at 10, not at park opening).

We rode it last night..i believe it's closed again until Friday... when the movie comes out.
