Is Park Vue Inn worth $50.00 more/night than HOJO?

I know that PVI has free breakfast and is closer... but is it THAT much closer? Is the PVI nicer? The difference is 50.00/night - although I figure it will probably be at least 25ish each day for breakfast for the 4 of us. So really, I guess 25.00 a night. Is it 25.00/night nicer???

if you are talking about the best western park vue inn..then with the free breakfast and it is closer .. then yeah i think it's worth the extra $50! I have photos of the rooms, they are pretty nice.. now i don't know if that have free parking, but it's right on harbor literally across the entrance from DLR(near captain kids and dennys)

Hmm, are you talking about the Best Western Park Place Inn or the Park Vue Inn (which isn't a Best Western)? And yes the Park Vue Inn does have free parking. Both are closer than Hojo's.

i don;t know i thought the op was talking about the best western.. i though that was the BW park vue inn. i must have my hotels mixed up.. i at least now where the hojo is! hojo's op has free parking but no breakfast

Bumping this thread as my party of 6 (three adults, three kids 2-7yo) is definitely considering PVI for distance and food reasons, along with affordable suites. You can two of of those three preferences (shorter distance better than longer; free breakfast and water bottles, evening snack; suites) at other hotels, but I haven't found one with all three.
Anyone had a more recent stay and would like to comment on food options, particularly the evening ones?

We just returned from a wonderful time at the Park Vue Inn, three nights, Dec 24th-27th. Close walk to Parks, free parking, free large breakfast, free light dinner, free snacks and drinks always available in Office, free gift basket of wine, candy etc in room at checkin, very pleasant staff. We stayed in the 2 bedroom, 3 queen beds suite that was great for 5 people. IHop and Cold Stone are at the front of the hotel. Check out their Facebook site, and their web site has pictures of rooms/beds. Hope you have fun no matter where you stay!

Abwdreaming...I was interested in your post because we will be staying at PVI in the 3 queen suite this summer. Did the suite having any seating in it besides the beds? Just wondered if there were chairs, or a couch. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your stay there. We are a family of 5...including three teenagers, so the space will be nice.

The main room was large and had two chairs by the desk. My husband and I used the seperate bedroom to have our own space, that was wonderful and quiet when the others watched TV. I think you can see room pictures that were posted by another DIS member in my "information" area. Park Vue Inn is a basic motel with several free amenities that made our stay enjoyable and comfortable. The location was Perfect! We went expecting just basics, The Park Vue Inn surprised us. Yes, we will stay here again.

No,because there is only one Ho Jo. Well there actually is more than one, but the one that you are referring to, is thee one to stay at while visiting the Anaheim area. The retro rates can't be beat.

I think it is. You can't beat the location, it's pool has been redone, they have the free breakfast, water, dinners - and did I mention the location??? I wouldn't stay at the HOJO - just too far down the road.

For the person that asked about the Park Vue Inn light dinner menu.
Dec 26th: macaroni and cheese (surprisingly very good); cooked broccoli and vegetable mix; chicken nuggets; tater tots; yogurt; fresh fruit salad; potato salad; ambrosia salad; green salad w cherry tomatoes/croutons; potato chips; drinks; cookies. We all found something to eat that satisfied us. Each night is different.
We took a break from Disneyland and it was so nice to just literally walk across the street. The dining area is up front on the second floor, we sat on the open deck area near the "heaters." Very pleasant.

PP that sounds so very nice... and now I am hungry for lunch. Howard Johnson's though is very close to different nice places to eat as well. And it is a very quick trip from there to the park via ART or a nice walk, or one could drive if they felt like it, but it is not really necessary to do that or take a cab in a pinch. But again, the location really is not too far from the land.

It's been a few years since we stayed there, but have you looked into the Desert Inn and Suites or Camelot? (We have stayed and the HOJOs twice, Desert Inn twice, Camelot twice or 3 times, Candy Cane Inn, Best Western, and Tropicana - plus all three Disney hotels). Both are very close to the crosswalk and offer breakfast.

We do like the HOJOs. But we are partial to building 2 - which is the farthest away from the crosswalk.

This is really interesting to me. I'm a huge fan of the HoJo, but now that my kids are older my priorities have changed a little (less need for the cutsie pool, more desire for additional beds so the daughters don't have to share a bed for a week).

I'm wondering about the size of the bunk beds. My 14 year old daughter is 5'4" (adult size) so I'm wondering if these are "kid-size" bunk beds, or will they be comfortable for pre-teen and teenager?
