one that would sit in one spot for a long time and play with one or two toys or a get up and go pull everything out as they ran throughout the house. Our boy could sit in his room and play without a peep. You would look in on him and he would be there in the same spot playing. Our daughter is one that runs through the house pulling not only hers but big brother toys out. She is an on the go kid. :yay: We just wonder what the one due in July will be like... :laundy: No matter what kind of kid you have you got to love them..:grouphug:

For both of our kids it depended on what day it was. Still does and they are 11 and 6. Some days they will be bouncing off the walls and causing havic. Other days (most days to be honest) they can sit quietly for hours and hours to the point where we jokingly wonder if one killed the other and are now in the process of burying them in the basement. :lmao:

I will say that the DD6 has always been more likely to have bounce off the wall days than the DS11.

I had the kind of toddler (now 7) that would take the mouth wash and spill it on the bathroom floor, then go to the closet, get a towel and "clean" it and make a bigger mess. If my DD was quiet for too long its something wrong...:rotfl:

DS #1 would play quietly with his toys
DD #2 would do the same or with her big brother's things
DD #3 can destroy a house in 3-1/2 mintues, she wants everything EXCEPT her toys.

When my oldest came to me, he was already a toddler. He played very quietly, didn't run around much...but had also been abused and was malnourished. I don't know if it was his nature or experience that made him play quietly.

One of the others played pretty much in the same room, moving from thing to thing and back again. Had his moments, but overall, an easy kid.

The last one was a hellion! Sometimes still and quiet, doing puzzles or whatever...sometimes buzzing around like a bee. That kid wore me out. When I heard a crash, he was almost always the culprit. pirate:

They are all different in their own way. And, yeah, you gotta love 'em. :)

From the time DD could sit up on her own, she was always content to just sit on the carpet with a pile of board books & look thru them. We could've left her there for hours, literally.

DS on the other hand, was content to hold his Thomas the Tank trains & play with them.

Neither ran/crawled around & made a mess.

As an infant she would hang out in her bouncy seat for hours just looking around and as a toddler she would sit and draw or play with her toys for hours on end.

That's my four year old. He's obsessed with liquids. He's dumped so many shampoos, conditioners, soaps, etc on the floor I can't even count. We know something is up when he's quiet and then goes tearing through the kitchen to get some paper towel. :rotfl:

The worse thing he's done, though, is stick about 8 needles in our comforter and mattress! He was in our bedroom and my husband had a sewing kit (that he took with him on trips) in his top drawer and Finn got into the drawer). I'm so thankful he wasn't hurt, but it took us forever to find them all (and we got pricked a lot in doing it). I will NEVER forget that one.

My oldest DD is 14 now, and she was into everything. When she did play with toys, she didn't play with them as they were designed to be played with. It is hard to explain, but her imagination was so vivid.

When it comes to my twins, I have one of each. One runs around getting into everything, and the other sits quietly and plays for the most part. My biggest headache with the twins is that they both are. . . CLIMBERS! It drives me crazy. I think they would climb on top of the refrigerator if they could figure out how to get up there. :faint: When they can't find anything to stand on, they stand on each other. Seriously, they have figured out that one can get in the crawling position and the other one will stand on her back to reach what it is they are after. <------ Me at the end of the day

Sit in spot and play? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: What is that? Right now I have my 2 toddlers running around the living room.. trashing it for aboutt he 10th time today.. I never unplug my vacuum. My 2 1/2 yo is butt naked.. well she has her sneakers on and thats it. They girl will not keep clothes on:confused3

She is playing with a ball and wont share so my 1 1/2 year old is chasing her and tacking her.. all the while yelling mommmm mommmm

Oh my -:scared1:

One of each!

DD1 is now 8. She loves to read, work puzzles, play teacher, etc. As a baby, she was content to sit in her exersaucer and watch life as long as she could see Mommy or Daddy.

DD2 is now 5 and is still on the go. And she "talks" constantly. When she runs out of things to say, she hums, sings, anything to make noise; sometimes we have to make dinner quiet time becasue she just does not stop yapping (as DH puts it). She can destroy my 2-story house in 2 minutes flat!

My son was and still is the sit and play type. He is 13 now and just loves to sit and make stuff with his bionicles and he also loves to read. Which is one reason I am scared to have another one because I know the next one would be the complete opposite.

Mine is definitely the sit and do variety. She's always loved reading and doing crafts. Even as a toddler she'd sit still for hours coloring or looking at books. I loved it. I could put a stack of books at the end of her crib and when she woke up, she'd spend at least an hour looking at them before she wanted to get up.

Oh no, DD2 is a tornado waiting to happen....lol...If she's too quiet, what do I say? "Baby, you okay in there?" That speaks for itself....lol

We had one of each. Our first DS would sit for hours (yes, hours - it was a bit worrisome at first:) ) reading books, listening to music or playing with blocks. The second is definitely a tornado man. He never stops moving, even in his sleep:confused3 .

True to form, our first son was really slow and quiet in the womb. In fact, I had to have several non-stress tests through the last 3 weeks of the pregnancy because he moved so little. The second one was like harboring a washing machine on a constant spin cycle. Still is.:goodvibes

Let's just say that if they ever decide to name a hurricane "Aiden", I know who it was named after. :rolleyes1

It's got to mean something when you tell your child to clean their room, and the reply is "It is such a disaster, it will take me forever!" :lmao:

my oldest was a play with one thing for a long time toddler
my middle was, and at 5 now still is, a "dumper" as in he must dump out every toy bin he can find.
my youngest is only 5 months but a Mom can dream so we're going to think positive and say he's a play with one thing for a long time AND THEN PUT IT AWAY sorta kid. :rotfl2:

DS10 - sat for hours and played with one thing
DS 8 - sat for hours and played with one thing
DS 3 - The kid doesn't still for a second. Has broken many, many things around our house. Yesterday for example, I couldn't tape Amazing Race because he put Lego in the VCR.
