Haven't been there in about 20 years and DS9 has never been there.

We are going with a family that has been there in the past 7 years.

Can we fit it all in a day? What should be do first, last and what is optional in your opinion?

Thanks :wave2:

I absolutely LOVE SW.

Yes, one day is enough, provided that you get there early, and plan on moving at a pretty constant pace. (Last time I went, I wore my pedometer... walked over 6 miles that day.) If you are a roller coaster fan, hit Kraken first... the line grows as the day goes. It's worth the wait for a front row if the line's not too bad!!! The Journey to Atlantis line grows all day, too.

Voyager's is a great place to eat lunch (in the Waterfront)... woodfired pizza thats better than any pizza I've ever had in a park!!! They have lots of other good "non-fast" food served cafeteria style, so it doesn't take too long, and is worth the real 'meal' as opposed to fast food.

Obviously, you don't want to miss Shamu or Clyde & Seamore. (Just don't sit in the splash zone unless you REALLLY want to get wet.) The penguin encounter is a definite MUST SEE, as well as the dolphins, and the sharks. I am partial to visiting the Clydesdales on every visit(as they are my company's mascot), but if the kids have never seen THAT big of a horse THAT close, they'll be impressed! I think "Pet's Ahoy" is definitely optional... haven't seen Oddyssea yet, so I can't comment on that one.

I agree that one day is enough. Get there at opening. We didn't have to move that quickly. In fact, DH stayed in the Hospitality Center drinking free beer samples for awhile and DS satyed at the dolphin tank for an hour, we saw everything (except the Key West show that was closed for rehab), and left about 4 pm. We returned later in the week for our 2nd day free and repeated our favorites. SW is wonderful. I think Odyssea is not to be missed. I almost skipped it and am glad that I didn't. I agree that Pets Ahoy is optional.

One day could be enough, or two leisurely days. When I travel with my parents we tend to tour at leisurely paces otherwise they are too tired to do anything the next day!

I agree, either one long day, or two calmer days. We always go for two days and do most attactions. But if you are there foe one day and want to do the rides, do them first. It is important to PLAN your day at SW or you can miss things.

Have a great time!!! Verity.xxx :wave2:

Apart from the rides- Obviously the 2 shamu shows. The Shamu night show is just fantastic! Clyde and Seymour is a MUST. But, I just love spending time at the dolphin and sea lion sections watching them, this is the best bit for me.

Pets Ahoy is cute show with house pets (obviously) that kids seem to love. Wild Arctic is a neat motion simulation ride at the beginning and then you go into the arctic "environment" for the exhibits with seals, beluga whales, polar bears, etc. I'd saying feeding the dolphins is a must also.

Our boys are 2 & 5 and we didn't do either of the "big rides" Journey to Atlantis or Kraken, and we didn't see all the exhibits or all the shows.

One day is definitely doable. I was there for my first time in October, and we didn't even stay for the entire day (most of it, though), but we saw everything we wanted and/or could.

My not-to-miss was the manta ray tank. I could have stayed there all day, feeding and petting the animals! But that's just me...

Maybe we're different because our kids love all kinds of sea creatures, but we spent a full day and didn't see everything we wanted to. Granted it was off-season, so the park was only open until 7:00, but we still had to go back a second day to do everything we wanted. And, as I stated in an earlier post, we didn't do either of the "big rides" either day.

I will be for the first time at Sea World (Monday May 16th). Can you give me an advice when we have to be at the Shamu Stadion to get a (good) seat to view the day show / to vie the (Shamu rocks America) night show? Which show you have to be earlier to get a good view? And which show is better?

Thanks for your tips!

I went to Sea World twice three years ago. The first time, we got there around opening, but we were back by dinner time. The second time, we went around noon (it was raining and not very packed), and we were able to stay for the night show, which I must say is an awesome sight to watch.

The Shamu night time show is called Shamu Rocks America... basically its a show with different behaviors (not tricks) than the day time show, and its set to rock music... Bruce Springsteen, ZZTop, etc. Still a very family-oriented show.

As you get your second day free (if you validate your single day passes before leaving the park) I highly recommend doing it in two leisurely days.

This way you can take your time at things like the dolphin and sea-lion feed etc, and still see all the shows.

The park is SOOO beautiful! Be sure and take time to soak in the beautiful surroundings!

Have fun--wish I were there right now!

Chris , to see the show you will be in huge stadiums. There generally isn't a bad seat except for maybe a roof support being in the way in some seats. If you want to get wet, you sit in the lower section. If you want to stay dry sit in the upper section. We sometimes even sit in the highest seats and the shows are still close and easy to see everything.

The times I have been to Shamu Rocks the stadium hasn't been full. Not everyone stays for the show since it is the last thing before the park loses.
I would try to get to the shows maybe 15 minutes before the start.
The camera focuses on people in the stadium and it is always funny to see peoples reactions etc.

If you go to the Seal and Otter show, be sure to get there at least 15 minutes early. A mime comes out about 10 minutes before the show begins and he is always funny.

Both shows are OK. The night one is more whale-less CM's talking etc. It goes at a faster pase to loud rock music which makes it different than the daytime show.
