Hello All,

I planned a WDW vacation but my girls are huge Harry Potter fans and have been talking about how they'd love to go there next time. I thought I'd surprise them for Christmas but really only have one day wiggle room to add on. Is one day enough to fully experience it? I have been reading all I cold find on here but am still feeling pretty clueless.

Also, where is the best place to get tickets?

Yes. One day is plenty. Hogwarts/Hogsmeade is one rather small, but spectacularly themed, area consisting of Forbidden Journey, Dragon Challenge, Hippogriff, Three Broomsticks (QS), Wand Shop(name?) and 2 or 3 gift shops and carts.

Thank you!! That makes me feel better about not cutting it too short or 1/2 way done:thumbsup2

I was wondering the same thing. Do you think universal studios is able to be done in a day?

We did all of Harry Potter and part of Seussland in one day over New Year's. Easily doable, but get there at opening to avoid crowds.

Wizarding World of Harry Potter is equivalent to a land at MK.It is a small area. Can easily be done in less than a day.

Just the Studios park or just the Islands of Aventure park.Yes. If you want to see both in 1 day, you can see the HIGHLIGHTS of both , but not all of both. The Studios attractions and shows are longer and run at specific times.Attractions like Disaster are at least 30 mins ( not including any wait times).Despicable me, Shrek ,Terminator also take longer. In the off season , the shows can run at the same times which makes timing them to see them all a long day.

If you are planning to go next summer or later there will be a Harry Potter area in each park. Hogsmeade is in Islands of Adventure and Diagon Alley will be in Universal Studios. At that time, I believe it will take two days to do both parks.

Are you going at Christmas time? If so, then it may take longer than a day to do IOA - but you can easily get the entire Harry Potter area done. For us, a day during off-peak leaves us wanting more but still doing what we want to do for the most part. If you're going during the busy season, then just plan priorities accordingly, but you'll definitely be able to get the HP area done with time left over.

We are going in February so I think the crowd is moderate at that time? It looks like we will miss the new area. I'm sure my girls will LOVE this and we will want to spend more time when we come back again but for now we can only squeeze one day in. Kinda pricey for one day, but they are huge HP fans and it will be a surprise Christmas present. Thanks for the info everyone! :)Relating it to one land at Disney helps a lot with my perception of it. I'm looking forward to it:)
