Is new money put into circulation at WDW?

Hi, on my recent WDW vacation I received many brand new coins as change. Has this happened to you? Is new money put into circulation at Walt Disney World?

We also received many new coins when we were there last week. Wondering the same thing.

New paper and coinage is distributed to the U.S. Federal Reserve Banks by the U.S. Mint, where it then filters down to local banks. WDW most likely received it from whomever makes their deposits for them.

I work in banking, and have for over 10 years, and WDW's financial institution or armored car service probably received new money from the Feds. The Federal Reserve is constantly filtering out old and mutilated money and replacing it with shiny and new money! We tend to get a lot of new bills around Christmas time.

This happens with any business where cash is needed. I used to manage a bookstore and when buying change from the bank we would on occasion get 'new money'. I used to save the super shiny pennies for the pressed penny machines at WDW.

Yes - Disney World, however we think it's so great, doesn't have the power to get new money. All US money is regulated by the US Treasury Department.

Before a previous trip, we went to our local bank for some penny rolls for the pressed penny machines. When we mentioned what we were getting them for, the teller searched the drawers a bit and gave us all new pennies.

It's Brinks, by the way, and they maintain a fleet of three smaller armored cars that fit in the utilidoors.

It would be the bank though, not the armored car service.
