Is nemo open druing early entry??

Thanks for the info -- that sounds like a good plan. I'm getting really excited!

Trey/HydroGuy,

Thanks for taking all of the time to post some very useful advice here and on other forums. Lots of great tips. I'm sure they will help for our late August trip. I'm hoping some of the excitement around Nemo has gone down by then, but I'm not counting on it.

Unfortunately for you I doubt the excitement will die down that soon. In fact, there will be a surge again about Aug 20 when the SoCal AP holders have their summer blackout end. I suspect that Nemo lines will increase more from Aug 20 until Labor Day.

Yesterday the lines seemes to long for us as they were quoting us 1 1/2 hours ALL day long - we left the park at 7 PM. Today it started out 1 1/2 - 2 hours long until......... walked by today around 3:45 PM and the line looked a bit shorter... then asked and they said 1 hr 20 minutes... we said what the heck and got in line.. it moved well and faster than anticipated.. we were on the subs within 60 minutes.. and the castmembers at the front were still telling people 1 1/2 - 2 hours.. I think it scared people away....
Great ride - glad we took the plunge to go on it today...

I know it's impossible to tell since it just opened, but what is your guess on how lines will be for the middle of Sept? (the 6-9th). We only have on EE day and since I've got small kids I want to spend it in Fantasyland, but my oldest really wants to do Nemo.

Well the schools in So CA will be back in, most schools across the states will also be back in... so that may help a bit.. you are going over a weekend though.. i would use the EE on the firdt available... preferred on the 6th (Thursday) if possible.... my two cents....

Thanks. Unfortunately, we don't arrive until early afternoon on Thursday, so our EE day has to be Sat. But we plan on using it for Fantasyland anyways. I was wondering about general crowds and more specifically for that ride. Hopefully we can get on it Thursday evening or early on Friday, before the weekend crowds come in.

I definetly think you should use your only EE day for Fantasyland. IF it was me I would try to hit Nemo as close to closing as you could. I think that is going to be my strategy when we go.

FWIW, after my visit a couple weeks ago I came to the opposite conclusion. Not sure what to expect for Sept, but the lines at the gates on non-EE days were insane because of Nemo (literally back to the DCA CALIFORNIA letters), while on EE days they were more reasonable. We used our EE for Nemo and then hit Fantasyland the next morning during a non-EE day. The thing is, if you can get to the gates early on a non-EE day you can do Fantasyland very thoroughly in the first hour - especially with so many people heading to nemo on non-EE mornings. If it were me and I were the OP, I would do Fantasyland on the first Friday (get to the DL gates 20+ minutes early) and then do Nemo during EE on Sat (get to the gates 30+ minutes early).

:thumbsup2 Perfect solution HydroGuy that does sound much more reasonable I forgot that hitting Fantasyland first thing on a non EE days is just as affective as hitting it first thing during EE.

I'm still going to be wanting to know as we move into fall how the line for Nemo is towards the end of the night. Hopefully come the end of October the lines will have died down!

My prediction is that the lines will die down sooner rather than later. During busy season the lines will peak at 60 minutes mid-day like PP and Dumbo, but during mornings, evenings and off-season they will be more tolerable. The reason I think this is that Nemo is a fun, original ride, but it is not a "blow you away" type of ride like Soarin Over CA, Indiana Jones or Space Mtn.

Hydroguy, that is exactly what I was debating! I have been going back and forth on which thing to do on which day!!! We leave on Friday, and I want to do EE on Saturday while we are still rested. Maybe doing Nemo then would be best. I wasnt sure if doing it on a non-EE day would be better in hopes others would be hopefully hitting other rides. :confused3

Interesting thoughts Hydroguy...

We are going to be in the parks on July 22, non EE day, and July 23, our EE day. My plan right now is to try to get on Nemo on the non-EE day, but if we are not some of the first ones in the park and Nemo is mobbed, we will quickly abandon that and head to Fantasyland and then try for Nemo the following morning, which is our EE day. My only reservation with that is reading about Nemo not opening right at the start of the hour for EE, that it may open 20 or 30 minutes later.

If we don't get to ride in the AM, we will plan to ride in the evening by grabbing some counter food and eating dinner while we stand in line.

That is what happened to us. We were third in line at Nemo during EE but they delayed starting the subs by 30 minutes. We were on the first sub at 7:30AM. So we had no time for anything else during EE (well, we did the Astro Orbiters as a walk-on at 7:50AM). Then we hit Fantasyland first thing the next morning - which was not EE.

FWIW, we arrived for a Tuesday EE at 6:20AM and were first in line, and arrived the next morning at 7:30AM and were about 30th in line. It is hard to emphasize enough that for this summer at least, being 1 minute later arriving at the Nemo Sub line can mean literally 30-60 minutes of extra waiting in line. That is why we arrived at 6:20AM. The lines at Nemo build incredibly fast.

We were just there for 8 days and didn't get to ride Nemo.:guilty: Early entry was packed, everyone practically ran to Nemo, and the other days was the same. We decided to try later in the year.

So, if you do FL on a non EE day, does the order of rides remain the same? When do you do SM? Also, when is the best time to do Indiana jones

Pretty much, with the difference that you can get FPs. During EE you cannot get FPs. So I try to get my first FP set in the first 30 minutes on a non-EE morning. In such a case, it would be best to grab a FP for Indy and ride it later.
