Is my math off? Park Hoppers Vs. Annual Passport

I upgraded my ph on our first day in the parks. The CM asked if i had planned on using the MM. I said yes and he gave me a paper MM pass to use later in our trip. This was Oct. 2016.

I also wanted to point out, if you buy discounted tickets, the discount is passed along to the annual pass. LMTclub has 4 day hoppers for $296.97 and 5 day for $300.87. Gate price is $335 and $350, resulting in a $40 or $50 "credit" toward your AP. I'd buy a 5 day for max savings and upgrade to the AP, essentially making it only $570.

I've used gift cards to purchase an AP at the ticket window (I've not used GCs online). Aside from being potentially time consuming if you have multiple GC, there weren't any issues when I used that payment method.

Make sure to combine GC online prior to the visit. Really easy, can combine up to $1,000 on one card.

Just to warn you, the math on saving money gets a little fuzzy when you decide to go more often because you have an AP...

LOL! So true. And Disney knows this. They track how often you visit and have your address. So they know if someone from out of town comes for two big trips and a few smaller ones. They know. I believe that is why the price ratio is what it is. Just low enough to entice you to buy the AP and come back more often or visit for more days.

We hadn't been for 4.5 years, then got AP's in July. This is going to be an expensive year! Then we probably won't go again for several more years. I still get Disney emails at an email address I haven't used for over 12 years. They keep track of everyone!
