is my DH a fool?

My DH works in retail sales on straight commission, and as we all know, that industry is kinda stinky right now. He has a co-worker (has know him for 6 plus years) who he is very fond of. The co-worker came to him today asking to borrow $200-300 in order to save his house. My husband, being the softie he is, gave it to him. This amount hurts to give (but won't kill us) so it will not be great if he does not repay, but again, won't kill us (will just reduce the food budget for our next trip.)

After I typed that, I noticed how bad it sounds. I am worried about a smaller food budget for a luxury trip when a friend is worried about losing his house. Guess my DH is not a fool after all.

Your last paragraph says a lot. :) I am not much of a lender. But then again, I have never had enough to lend. :p I think it was very kind of you all to help that co-worker out. :)

I don't think that he is a fool at all, as long as he was sure that the money really was going to go to the house.

Sounds like neither you or your DH is a fool. You both sound very sweet!
