Is Monsters Inc Laugh Floor moving to Hollywood?

The California one looks so fun, that it almost makes me want to go out west. Plus Hollywood needs some kiddie rides. Right now the only kiddie one currently at the park is Toy Story.

It is cute, mildly entertaining to ride once or twice in a visit, but a pretty standard dark ride. Similar to pooh.

It is also ripe for replacement. The location makes zero sense, it is stuck in the middle of nowhere (it was a cheap retheme of a VERY bad Hollywood themed ride). I wouldn't be surprised if it eventually gets removed for something Marvel related.

I don't get why the Asians love Duffy so much, he sucks. They act like he's a japanese Beatle.

They don't seem like they know how to queue either. The guests surround the poor characters on all sides and pull at the closest limb. I definitely wouldn't take that job for all the Pokemon's in the world.

We'll take it, it's better than most of the lousy attractions that Hollywood has had the past 10 years. I'd welcome a family ride anyday over Jack Sparrow, Disney Junior, Narnia, One Man's Dream and Launch Bay.

Every area of the world has their own likes and dislikes. It's like how some movies such as Star Wars do incredibly well here but not as well in other countries.

Every culture has their own way to do things as well. Look at Shanghai for example, that park is so much different from your typical Disney castle park. People in other countries are not used to or don't even know what theme parks are.

Have you been to Tokyo? I haven't but I don't think you can truly talk about the guest experience until you have. Tokyo doesn't have the major construction companies to work on multiple major projects at once or costs would be incredibly higher than they are now. Tokyo is always changing things and adding things especially entertainment. They have a full Easter parade that runs in the spring. WDW is lucky to get a pre parade.
If you haven't been neither should you try to say "guest experience over profit" without actually seeing it firsthand. The way I see it in the US is the profits go into the parks. Maybe not the exact change, but a good majority. Takes $100 million to maintain the magic kingdom per year. I don't know about the other parks, and how expensive have the past couple additions been? Not to mention, if the US parks were its own company, wouldn't they be caring more about profit then in order to stay afloat? Kind of like the oriental land company, outside of Tokyo Disney they own 3 railways, so it seems as though they could have those business views. Not to mention all the licensing fees they have to pay to Disney. I said nothing about the time it takes to build, just about how it's somehow aligned with the 2020 olympics. Also the us parks change their entertainment all the time as well, so I don't see why Tokyo gets that card. All I'm trying to say is the oriental land company does put profit over guest experiences with this post and my other post about this.
I hate fighting but in some way I hate hearing about how Tokyo is somehow the "messiah" of the Disney parks from the people (not saying you) who dissect and criticize everything the American parks do and not even look at the positives from their previous experiences and others' as well

I completely understand but from everything I know and have heard about the Tokyo parks is that they are to of the best Disney parks in the world. Their attendance numbers help back that up as well. Out of all of the foreign parks the Japan parks are the first I want to go to. They way I see Tokyo adding and changing things up it just seems they care more.

Out of all the foreign parks I honestly want to visit Paris the most. I've heard so many awful things about it but since I want to explore Europe as well might as well kill two birds with one stone

Paris would be mine right after Tokyo. I just can't pass up DisneySea. I'm a huge AK fan and everyone says DisneySea theming is so much better than AK.

Paris is revitalizing themselves though. Everything is being refurbished top to bottom From resorts, to rides, to restaurants.

Is it just me or does anybody esle wish that they just sink a bit of money into improving MK's entertainment or even all the parks. Tokyo is a great example of great entertainment, their shows are said to be the crown jewls of Disney Shows. I mean MK or even DW doesn't have that many shows, the only ones coming to mind is LIon King, Finding Nemo and Beauty and the Beast.(I know there's the castle show, but it isn't necessarily a stage show) Then there's parades, FoF was a step in the right direction but we need a new nighttime parade. We also need new seasonal parades as well BTY is over 10 years old and MOUACTP is old, I can't remember how old but old. And while I'm at it they should have a proper Easter parade that runs for a month or two. However I' m not asking for them to have new parades every two years like Tokyo but a new one every 4 years would be nice. Also they celebrate summer with special shows, basically all of which you will get soaking wet. It would be nice to see somthing similar but with less water.

Personally I am not a big fan of Tokyo's seasonal parades as they feature a show stop. Which in my opinion is just a way of making the parade longer but cheaper. For example the Christmas parade which debuted in 2015 is roughly 13 minites long. 8 of those minites are of a show stop meaning that there is only 5 minites of actual parade.

I know all this would come at a HUGE cost but they could do it in steps, for example they could start with little things like having more characters out. Wouldn't it be great to have chatacters like Max, Hughy,Douie and Louie out.(Probaly spelt that all wrong) Maybe we could even get Clarice and what about Bernard and Miss Bianca. Then they could start getting more parades over a 5 year or so time period. And while I'm talking about parades and characters I just want to say that in Tokyo disney they tend to stick to the classic animated shorts and comics for characters of their seasonal parades. Look at 2013-2014 Christmas parade for Tokyo, thought it was a great parade but it only had characters from those shorts.(Although I really want some of the more family type characters, like max and H,D and L, to be in a new Christmas parade, which I think we need)

Sorry, for the long post but I really wanted to rant about this somewhere.

If they close Hollywood land in DCA, the Monster Inc ride would probably close as well. It would be nice to relocate that ride to WDW. I have never been to Tokyo Disney or Disney Seas, but my dad has. He said it was incredible and highly recommends going.

I don't get Duffy either. But maybe that's the point. The Japanese somehow, subconsciously felt the need to adopt and promote a "new character" that would be their very own, not a hand-me-down character from the USA.

Kind of like rooting for your local sports team. They may not be anything special but they're "ours".

Tokyo DL and Sea is vastly superior to any other theme park I have visited. There is an overly and parade for every holiday that changes frequently. Guests recently were upset about the Halloween parade because it had been there for 2 years. There is a new one this year. The merchandise quality is of the highest standard. Merchandise is purchased by adults for adults. The care about the guest experience. Guests care about other guests experience. The park is immaculate, everyone sits for the parades. If you want to stand you do see at the back so everyone can see.

The Mira Costa and Ambassador were very highly themed with wonderful service. The Teddy Roosevelt lounge is one of the best bars I have been to anywhere.

I toatally agree, even though I haven't been to the Tokyo parks, I really want to go someday. As I was saying in an earlier post, I wish that the update the parades and shows more often and also have proper easter and summer celebrations. I also feel like they should start do DisneySea type shows at Epcot on the Showcase lagoon. There is plenty of space around world showcase for viewing and there is even a couple of places for stages if they wanted to use that. There is a storage area they could use the brages that is already there which is small but has plenty of room to expand it.

They also need to up their merchandise at DW it's all the same where ever you go.

That's a good one Hendyman, I didn't think of it from that perspective. I see your point and all, but I still think they are a bit weird.

I saw this one restaurant in Japan that was Toilet themed. The strange customers sat on and ate out of toilets. The chocolate ice cream photo in the link below almost made be give up ice cream for a few minutes.

Well technically Duffy was created in 2002 for Once Upon a Toy in Disney Springs. Back then he had a totally diffrent backstory. But then OLC adopted the character and aggressively marketed him and gave him another backstory.

I acctualy like Duffy, ShellieMay and Gelatoni and I wish they made a lot more appearances in the US parks but maybe that's just me.
