Just wondering how crowded is MK on non-mnsshp nights? A friend of mine is in disney now and is only able to do parks for 2 days...both days she's going to MK. She had said that yesterday since she had to leave MK at 7pm because of the halloween party, they gave her a pass to come back to MK the next day from 7pm until close. I didnt realise disney gave out such passes. Kudo's to the guests, but im wondering, if its packed on non party nights, this could be why. I was just curious about the crowds, thats all. :confused3

In my experience non-party nights are much busier that days when the MK closes early. Most people that don't plan on attending the party will go then for the evening parade and fireworks. We hop so do the bulk of our MK time on a party day and go on a party night only for the parade/Wishes.

I don't have an answer to your question but wanted to say, that is awesome what Disney did for your friend, I too have never heard of them doing this :goodvibes. I do know when we are there next week, we are going to MK twice during our week...once on a party day (we will be going to the party that night too) and then once on a non party night. On the non party night the MK was opened from 9am - midnight, now it is opened from 8am - midnight with no EMH scheduled...soooo, I am thinking it is going to be crowded that day :scared1:. Oh well, we will make the best of it because after all we are in Disney :thumbsup2.

It is incredibly crowded on non-party nights.

I'm really surprised that they gave her a free pass because she had to leave at the scheduled closing time.

DITTO.

The only time MK is not crowded is non Saturday mornings until 11am to noonish.

what was she smoking??

Who knows. :confused3 but she was as happy as can be when they gave her the pass.
I'm very very skeptical about any pass. I can't imagine them giving her a pass to come back another day because the park closed at the posted time. I think she REALLY misunderstood and is using another of her park days when she goes back the next day at 7pm.

No, they truly gave her another pass. She only had a one day park ticket. I spoke to her yesterday and she did in fact enter the park at 7pm.

That was REALLY nice of Disney! Their hours are posted so it is the guest's responsibility to know the park closing time. I'm happy for your friend.

I know your friend is already done, and maybe you heard from her on crowd levels, but last night was pretty packed.

There was a huge crowd at bag check. People were lining the curb for the 9pm MSEP when I got there at 7:30. By the time it started, most of the parade route seemed to be 3-5 rows deep along the whole route (for comparison, I went to 4 MNSSHP and watched the parade 7 times - and always was able to get a 2nd row (1st standing) spot within 30 minutes of the parade starting). The hub was packed - even the corner that the parade doesn't go through.

Once the fireworks went off everything died down dramatically. It was an evening EMH, so that explains some of the crowds when I first arrived. But my litmus test is the teapots wait time - and I saw it at 15 minutes at one point. Even on moderately busy days it tends to stay around 5.

I think next Wednesday at MK will be insanely busy with so many parties.

So my options for seeing wishes our week is a wed night when MK has EMH until 1am (would hop to MK for the night), or Friday with regular hours (our planned MK day). All other days are halloween parties. Any advice on which would be better?

Yikes! Last October we were there on a Saturday night and EMH were extended that night til 2 AM> We got "stuck" and I do mean stuck, in front of the Castle prior to MSEP, and were so far back we really could not see it. I know that in December we are in teh MK on a non party Saturday night and I bet we will be out of luck for MSEP unless we are in a spot early. I think I will need to decide how important it is to me....

Thank you for the perspective. I had forgotten how busy those evenings are!

It was crazy yesterday @ MK. Interesting about the park pass, we opted for a hopper because we didn't realize there was a Tuesday party until we got here. We only had 2 days - I planned everything last minute

I want to say that they will probably be pretty equal. But if you are planning on using EMH, then go Wednesday. Crowds were gone after the fireworks and many rides dropped to walkon in the last hour of regular operating hours. I'm sure that it would have been a great night for rides.

If there is a second MSEP and you can stay for it, then watch that one. The parade route was virtually empty. It seems like everyone was there just for the fireworks and then cleared out after.

That is an option that I had not considered yet. We are going basically for the Holiday decorations and since I love the MK all lit up at night, I wn't feel the need to scoot out.
