Planning our secon trip to WDW. Thinking about May. Is it a good to go. We would go in the beginning of may. it is our 20th wedding anniversary.
also we are planning to stay on site. would the resort we pick do anything special if we mention it's our wedding anniversary.

My opinion here...I think May is a wonderful time to go. The weather is great and there are crowds but nothing like the summer.

My hubby & I went this past May to celebrate our 15th anniversary and when I made reservations I told the person we were going to WDW to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds. When we got there, there was an envelope for us with a "certifiable Magical Moment" certificate for our anniversary. The resort didn't do anything for our anniversary, however, at the restaurant (Trail's End) we mentioned that we were celebrating and we received another certificate AND a wonderful small strawberry shortcake for desert.

Also, make sure you stop by City Hall at Magic Kingdom and tell them you are celebrating your anniversary - they will give you each a pin (with a bride & groom - Mickey & Minnie) to wear (and everywhere you go each CM who sees it will congratulate you.

Have a great time! And congrats!

dm and i went early may this year, and we had a great time. the weather was awesome, with the exception of one rainy day. very minimal lines. it was lots of fun. the trip before we went late april, and same thing. next trip we will be going in march.

We went in May and thought it was a good time. The weather was great - only one hot day. The crowds were reasonable especially at the beginning part of the week. The only problem we ran into was at Epcot. There were alot of large school groups and were taking there end of year trips. They were pretty well behaved, but as with all large groups, they overwhelmed any area they were in, especially the shops. Overall, we thought it was a good time.

We usually go in May and September and we LOVE May. I think there are light crowds and the weather isn't too hot and humid. At least ot like it is when we go in September !!

Yea May is a great time to go! We go every year right around Mothers Day & it is awesome. Crowds aren't bad & the weather is great! I 100% recommend planning a trip for May, you won't be dissappointed!

May is (usually) a wonderful time to visit. Warm enough to swim but without the heat and humidity you'll find a month or two later.

As regards 'something special' from your resort for mentioning your Anniversary, it's worth mentioning but don't 'expect' anything. Sometimes a little magic comes your way, sometimes it doesn't. From reading the boards over the years, I know people are often disappointed when they think they're going to get a freebie (and I'm sure you're not 'expecting' it) and don't. Get the free button at Guest Services, and expect a lot of good wishes. :)

We go the end of april/beginning of May every year. And we love it.

The Epcot Flower and Garden festival is going on at that time and it's wonderful to see all of the Topiaries.

The weather is nice too, you can get some warm days, but coming from New England, it's nice to see the warm weather.

Yes, definitely tell them you are celebrating when you make your ressies. And also tell them when you check in. Also if you have any sit down diners on your schedule, tell them too.

It cannot hurt to tell everyone, and you may be surprised to see what happens. But do not 'expect' something to happen, just go with the flow.

Enjoy

Went for the first time this may, i usually go in july probably will never go in july ever again. :bounce: :rotfl2:

My daughter is going to be 12. We took her to Disney for the first time when she was 4. We went in May and it was a great time.

The added bonus was the EPCOT Flower and Garden Fest.

I didn't know that when I booked it, but it was great.

DBF and I went last year in May...the weather was perfect and the lines were minimal. This year we went in May (same week as last year) and it was considerably warmer and more crowded. It's a great time to go though! :thumbsup2
