Is Marie really being replaced by Stitch in MK?

Hi there, gang! I apologize if this topic was already discussed...I searched but didn't see anything so I am hoping someone will be able to help

I will be going to the World in September with my DD8. For the past three trips, she has wanted to meet Marie but so far, we have been unsuccessful. So we are determined to meet her on this upcoming trip since she is my daughter's favorite. But now there are rumors that Stitch is replacing Marie. Does anyone know if this is true? And if it is, will Marie just be moved to another location or is she being put out to pasture with all the other characters of days past?

I am pathetically worried about this lol. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I would be happy if Stitch came back to MK.
But having him at the flagpole doesn't make sense.
I don't get why they removed him from Tomorrowland in the first place.

I would be thrilled to have Stitch back in MK but not in the situation where he actually replaces a character :-/ I don't understand why they removed him from Tomorrowland either.

I plan on making a reservation at Ohana primarily to see Stitch, so if they move him back to MK, I would be happy to cancel the Ohana ressie because there are other restaurants that we enjoy more.

I know that by the time our trip in September rolls around we will know for sure, but I am hoping to find out now because I am impatient haha

You know...while I LOVED the movie The Aristocats when I was a child (they always played it on TV back in the 90s), I feel like young kids these days lining up to see her don't know who she is. Why does Disney still have her around for what I think is one of the more "underrated" Disney movies? Or maybe it has some hidden popularity that I don't know about.

I've seen her (while passing by) in France every trip I've taken for the past 6-7 years!

As far as the poster said it made no sense to have Stitch at the flagpole... What sense does having a French cat at the American flagpole make?

Marie isn't a regular character in Epcot. She moved from Epcot to MK a few years ago.

You may have possibly seen Marie as a "training" character where the CM is training to meet and greet as a character performer.

The other explanation is that if there are spare CMs who decide to go onstage, managers have to choose a character that isn't already out onstage.

I think she is surprisingly popular. Lots of merchandise with her on it. And as far as the popularity goes, I work in the office of a school and the kiddos here definitely know who the majority of the older characters are.

It's been reported that the someone high up was at Epcot and that is why Marie was there. When the higher up moved to MK, so did Marie because that was the only way she could be protected to remain onstage somewhere.

That is actually really cute haha. And I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing if I could! If I were running the show, there would be characters everywhere!

Marie moved from Epcot to MK on Sept 30, 2012. She has not appeared at Epcot since (except for maybe Marathons). She does not appear as random or pop up character at Epcot.

As for future changes, typically character changes happen in May, so you've got just a couple months until confirmation.

Aristocrats was also on Netflix the past few years until this past January, and my 4yo daughter has seen it countless times and tries to sing even the more complicated songs.

Hope we can catch Marie April 30th.

The diva pose? The best!
