Is magic missing?

We returned a couple weeks ago. Before that, our last trip was late 2010. I did find it to be more crowded than it used to be. And because of that, I think we encountered more annoying people than we used to. But it didn't effect our trip or our enjoyment. As far as CMs...we only encountered really nice ones during our visit.

There was only one slightly rude person that I encountered... As we were getting off Big Thunder Mountain my son was ahead of me and the CM stuck her hand out and was asking me to stop so she could have people load on the ride (They were loading from the exit side). I didn't hear her due to the noise and I was trying to keep track of my kid and she got somewhat snotty with me. I was annoyed since she really didn't have to stop anyone at that exact moment and I don't think she should have expected me to just let my kid run off without me...

I have been a few times in the past year, and while it can be crowded, you have to expect that from a park like Disneyland. That can be alleviated some what with the time of year you go, I have been the first week of December which was really nice as the park seemed to be fairly quiet versus when I was there in July. Even with the crowds of July though, the magic was always there, you just have to look around and immerse yourself in all that is Disney. In all of my trips, I can't recall a time where I ever had a bad experience with the CMs. Some have even gone out of their way to assist me and my group, without even having to ask, which was amazing and thoughtful and I think speaks volumes for the types of people that Disney employs.

Yes, I have enountered rude people in DLR, but when I do, I just follow my daddy's advice and ignore the ignorant.

My DD5 and I just got back from our first ever trips to Disneyland and I must say, it was truly MAGICAL.

From the interactions with CM, to even how other guests were to us, to seeing the Castle uncovered and all lit up, well everything was magical.

I had a guest just give us her pager for the Meet 'N Greet Olaf totally out of the blue. We received a "Choice" Fastpass from a CM on Sunday that we were able to use on any ride (we used it on Alice).

This is just 2 samples.

CM interaction, not a problem. All were friendly, chatty, and gave us good information that enhanced our experience. Not a single rude CM was encountered, even when it got chilly and wet with the California rain downpours (as they were).

The only rudeness I encountered was from other guests (I got up from our table in a restaurant to put something in the garbage can 4 feet from us...my DD5 was at the table still eating...and someone took my chair and told me to get "lost" when I asked)

There is magic in Disneyland, you just have to give it a chance to find you and let the magic happen.

Disneyland IS magic.
