Is Le Cellier worth it? No DDP for us...

We are going to Disney after a 7 day cruise for 6 days. I booked Le Cellier for an 8:15 ADR. After reading some poor reviews, I was wondering if you thought it was still worth the $$$? We are not on the DDP and are on a bit of a dining budget for this leg of the vacation. We also kind of figured, after eating ourselves silly for 7 days, we wouldn't really need fancy dinners every night. We are traveling with our DD5. Thanks!

If not on the DDP you might try Shula's about the same price and better steaks.:thumbsup2

No way. Le Cellier is so not worth it. The steaks arent that great, at least mine wasnt. I had the strip steak, and it was tasteless and fatty. Cheese soup wasnt good either. If I paid in cash i'd be soooo ticked!!! So not worth it. This place is so over rated. If you want a good steak, go to a steak house in your hometown. much better deal than le cellier. Or like the OP said, go to Shula's.

Otherwise your better off eating at sunshine seasons at epcot!

We have eaten at le cellier and loved it, but after the food on the cruise you might not need to see another meal again. It is quite a nice dining experience but i wouldn,t go bonkers if i skipped it either.

:) You are right!

The first time i went here was on my birthday... It totally bombed...and not in a good way.

First of we were seated all the way in the corner. We sat...and sat...and sat. Like for 30-40 minutes before the waitress came over to take our order. then another 40-50 minutes to give us the dinner which was over cooked. However the people sitting to our right were seated right away and had no wait only because they were NOT on the dinner plan.

They didn't do anything special for my b-day which was surprising because i had heard that most WDW restaurants do something special.

IMO i don't think it's worth 2 Tables or even 1.
I would highly think of rethinking this restaurant.

We love Le Cellier and we've never had a problem with it. We especially love the pretzel bread sticks. We've had great steaks and other wonderful menu items. Being from Texas I'm a steak lover and am very critical about my steaks. I can tell you, from our experiences with Le Cellier, that each of the steaks were cooked to our liking every time we've eaten there, which is every trip as this is a MUST do for us. While they were not the best we've ever had, they were certainly delicious and tender. The atmosphere alone is worth the ADR IMO.

The only complain I have about Le Cellier was this past March when we were 6 minutes late to the ADR due to my wife being 7 month pregnant. It took us a little longer than expected walking from Future World to the restaurant. They gave it to the person that was next in line. Rather than simply just obtaining their ADR (basically switching ADR's), they said they would not be able to accomodate us. I was livid and wanted to raise all kinds of hell, but my wife needed to eat so I took her to the food court.

We had two great experiences there over the last couple of weeks, on the DDP. It is a bit pricey if you have to pay.

If you really want to try Le Cellier, go for lunch, it's a better value. If you want a good steak dinner, Yachtsman is better, and the price is basically the same as Le Cellier.

I'm really surprised at the le cell reactions on the board...

Anyone else?

I've been twice and thought it was excellent both times .

We had a wonderful meal at Shula's. Both of us didn't want a humongous piece of meat and we asked if it could be split. They said no problem, and served our split entree on separate plates. A class operation! And delicious!

Loved shulas!!! The food is wonderful....if you want a good steak...head for Shulas!!!

My husband and I absolutely loved the food when we went for our anniversary. It is a bit pricey but the food is great and it fills you up. I had a very small lunch in anticipation of our dinner at Le Cellier. I was so stuffed when we left our dinner, I didn't eat anything for the rest of night. So really if you think about it...if you don't eat much the rest of the day...it really isn't as pricey as it seems because of how filling it is...you won't be spending tons of money throughout the day on random food. It is something to consider, I'd recommend trying it.

Ate there this spring after it went 'signature' Won't bother again. I spent around $100 with wine and was not impressed. Soup was the best thing I ate (steak was so so) For the same money there are much better options.

Not a fan of Le Cell either. We went for dinner and were seated 45 mins past ADR. Food was so salty it was almost inedible. I had the filet and mushroom risotto. I can do better at home cheaper. Dh had the chesse soup and it was yummy. Dd's plain pasta was swimming in 1/4 cup or more of olive oil. Service was bad. Dessert was good. We won't ever go back, I was shocked when it became a Signature.
