I know it was set to open in "late september", and I even read on another website that the opening date was set for 9/22. Any reports as of yet?

Are we talking about the same thing, or is there another kiosk that will be opening in addition? All the literature specifically shows this will be a shop, not a kiosk. It's not taking over a crystal booth, but the actual store "Glas und Porzellan Shop" in Germany. Even better, it's not just selling candy, but is selling fresh made caramel treats.

"Caramel Kitchen to open late September . . . the official name is Karamelle-Küche, German for “caramel kitchen,” and the new shop in the Germany pavilion at Epcot is themed like an Old World German caramel shop. A show kitchen will feature cast members making fresh caramel popcorn, caramel apples, caramel-covered strawberries and marshmallows. Werther’s Original candy will be on the shelves, and the shop also will include gourmet caramels, cookies, brownies, fudge and cupcakes. It’s the only free-standing retail location in the world for Storck, makers of Werther’s Original Caramels, and you’ll find some goodies on the shelves that you can’t find anywhere else. The shop replaces the Glas und Porzellan shop."

I could be mistaken but I thought it was going into an actual store. Maybe where the Hummel figurines are sold. Is it called Glas Und Porzellan or something like that?

When we were there in Aug. the Hummel Shop was all closed up...bet that is where is will be. YUM!

I'll kinda miss the Glas und Porzellan shop. Not that we ever bought much there, but I'm pretty sure that shop was there when Epcot opened.

While I'm not a big eater of sweets, I do love caramel so I'm sure I can find something to make it worthwhile to stroll through.
