We've read a lot on various threads about how bad the lines, the heat and the rain can get in July ... This will be our first July (Peak time) visit to WDW, is it true what they say??!! :scared1: :scared1:

Well, we went the first week of August which has the same reputation and aside from a little more rain than I would have liked I didn't think it was that bad. Yes, there were some lines, but I figured it was always like that. It was really our first big planned trip and I was worried before going based on everything I read but it turned out to be a beautiful vacation!!!

Thanks for that! Lines or no lines, hail, rain or shine we plan to have fun anyway! Can't wait to go! :hyper2:

We went last year in July. We didnt think it was that bad. We actually had the best vacation ever last year!!!!!!!!!!! We are going at the same time this year!

This will be our 3rd trip during the month of July this year....at first I had a hard time getting used to the heat but now that I know what to expect I find I get used to it much faster.

As for the crowds....they can get pretty big but if you make the most of the mornings and arrive early you'll find you can get alot done.

I LOVE the summer months, and the crowds add to te atmosphere I find. Better in July than not going at all!!

Besides, all I have to remember are days like these ( major snow storm ) and july sounds pretty good to me!

My mom is a teacher, so when I grew up we went in July a lot. Yeah, its hot and crowded but its still a fun time to go! At least you know it will be warm enough to go swimming, both water parks will be open, the parks will have later hours, less rides will be under rehab./everything will be open. Just go to the parks in the morning. Take a rest in the afternoon. There will be a quick afternoon thunderstorm that will cool everything off. Then go back to the parks in the evening. You will have a great time!

Hot and crowded but we keep going back! Actually, it's not that bad. You'll have a great time.

We have been to Disney World 5 times over our July 28th anniversary. We love it! We use the early entry days and the fastpass system to our advantage whenever it's possible. The weather can be hot but many times it has been cooler in Florida than back home in Kansas while we were down there! You will have a great time! All day today I've been looking at all of my pictures I have on my desk at work from our trip last summer and I've been wishing I could go there right now! Lucky you that you get the chance to go there this summer!

We went last year in July & loved it so much that we are going this year in July too! :)

Do you think July 5 for 5 nites will really bad or will the 4th of july crowds be gone already?

From reading other threads it seems as if 4th July will be a bit crazy at WDW and then theres a bit of a lull afterwards...don't know how long it lasts though! Hopefully long enough for us to get back from Miami! :rotfl:

When I went in July I didn't think it was too hot. There was a thunderstorm maybe 5 out of the 7 days we were there. But only 2 of the storms lasted a couple hours. The other 3 passed in 20 minutes. Bottom line, I had a wonderful time and would definitly go in July again!!!

Over the years (I grew up in Winter Park.), I've visited the parks many times during July. Even now that I no longer live in Florida, I often go back during the summer months to visit friends and family...and WDW, of course. If July is the best time for you to visit the Mouse, then GO! But go prepared. It will be hot and humid, and it will rain every afternoon at precisely the same time (or at least it seems like it). However, the generally short downpour can really work in your favor. Many of the theme parks, but especially the water parks, will empty-out during the deluge. As far as the temperature goes, take breaks during the worst of the afternoon heat. Also, those misting fans can be a real lifesaver.

I think people who are accustomed hot temps in the summer are able to stand it a lot better than those from cooler climates. I see you are from Ireland. I assume that you wouldn't be accustomed to the high humidity. If you haven't experience 95 degrees with 100% humidity, it will be quite a surprise. I would be prepared with LOTS of sunscreen and water and very LITTLE clothes. Get out early in the morning and get to the attractions that you want to see the most. When it gets hot in midday take it easier with indoor theater attractions and dining.

We have gone in July and June for 4 years and are going back again. It is soooo worth it to us. I love it!

We have extremely high temps and humidity here in Tennessee, but we can go weeks in the summer without rain. I keep reading that it rains every day in the summer in wdw, how late in the evening does it rain? We are planning to go back to the hotel during lunch to swim, and would love to be able to plan to hit the parks again after the rain.

I like going in July and the most rain we ever had in July was quick daily rain showers that just cooled things off a bit. My only trip that rained A LOT was in June. Like others have said start out early and takes swim/rest breaks and the parks are always open late which is another plus.

If the heat bothers you, yes it's miserable. Some people like "hot" - some can't function in it...just depends on what you are like.
