I'm on the Disney Dining Plan and it will cost me 2 TS credits to eat a Jiko. It is worth it? DH and I will be flying into Orlando late on day one and on another day we want to experience the F&W Festival without being strapped to a TS reservation. As result, we will have an opportunity to dine at a Signature Dining restaurant. Any thoughts or recommendations? I've always wanted to experience Jiko, but I'm open to other ideas.

I never do the dining plan so I dont know if its "worth" it or not, but I will say its one of our Top 5 Restaurants at WDW. The others being Blue Zoo, Il Mulino, Shulas and Citricos.

I'm not sure if price wise it will be worth the 2 TS credits, but it has been on my dining bucket list for years. I'm going to keep my reservation. The reviews look great! Thanks again! :-)

I don't do the dining plan so I am not really sure how to address the 'worth' concern, but after V&As, Jiko is mine, and my husband's, favorite restaurant on property.

I don't do dining plan either. But as for Jiko. I love it. I eat at the bar. I go there to get press pots and dessert. We love the wine. The steaks are fantastic. And as far as I am concerned the the look and feel of the restaurant is amazing. I visit this place the most, never regret it. I'd say do it. Enjoy it. And savor the beauty and the food.

I think Jiko is at least as good if not better than the other restaurants that cost 2 TS credits. So yes, it's worth it! Enjoy!!

Jiko is one of the listed restaurants on the Orlando Magical Dining Month's $35 for 3 courses. Running now until Oct.1. If you'll be at WDW in Sept, this is a great way to try Jiko. Save your TS credits for other restaurants and just pay OOP at that price. That's my plan :thumbsup2

IMHO the only time any restaurant is worth 2 credits is if you have credits to burn or extra QS credits to use for dinner making it worth using 2 TS. As PP mentioned $35 for 3 courses is a perfect opportunity for an OOP meal and 2 credits to burn somewhere else. Double whammy. :)

It depends on what you order, but for a signature I feel like it is worth it.

I also don't do the dining plan but I've never had a bad meal here. Personally, I think it's a hidden gem because it's easy to get ADRs. The only thing I no longer order here is dessert; those are always a letdown for me. But appetizers and entrees have always been very good!

Another non-dining planner here, but Jiko is definitely on our top list of Disney restaurants. Their food is truly unique and executed to perfection. I've lost track of how many times we've eaten here, but we have never left disappointed.

I agree that Jiko is a great restaurant and well worth a meal there but I also find it hard to justify spending 2 dining credits on any signature. If you have credits to burn then absolutely worth it.

The only time I have used 2 credits on a signature is when we paid OOP for Sci-Fi since their meals are relatively cheap. Because we had that credit available we used it for a signature.

We don't use the dining plan, use TIW instead. The who family ate there last week and all agreed the meal was wonderful! Our server was knowledgeable and quick to answer our questions. We each ordered something different so we all got a taste. Absolutely delicious!!

"Worth it" is such a difficult question to answer. I've never done the DP so I really can't comment on if using 2 credits for a meal is worth it. However, of all the signature restaurants at WDW I'd rate Jiko as one of the absolute best.

Difficult to answer. We love Jiko and have eaten there the last few times we've been to WDW, and enjoyed every meal there.
I would put it on par with the other signature restaurants. The real question is , is any signature restaurant worth 2 credits. If your answer is yes, then it is well worth it.

For us Jiko has been hit or miss. It's either extremely amazing or an utter disaster. If they are having it good night it's one of our absolute favorites. If you're just looking for the most bang for your buck it's Narccoosee's by far. The food is amazing, service is by far the best, and you will exceed the normal value of 2 points.

I've eaten there three times; and the first two times we at at Jiko we were on the DP and used 2 credits, so I would probably say it's worth it. We just knew going in which day we wouldn't eat TS since we used two for Jiko, and no one felt like we were missing out on a good meal because of it. It's a lovely atmosphere and amazing food. Check the dress code before you pack.

To echo what many others have said, "worth" is in the eye of the beholder. Jiko is one of the top restaurants at Disney. From the service, to the food, to the wine list, and including the ambiance, Jiko delivers.

The short answer is no. You will not be able to get the credit value from what you order on the DDP. Jiko is one of the more reasonably priced signatures and makes getting value out of the meal hard. Really only the brunch at California grill is worth 2 DDP credits.

I agree that the taste of Orlando is a great option if it is available to you

The other option is to give Sanaa a try as a similar experience but only one credit. That being said if you won't have the oppportunity to use the credit it is better sent on Jiko then left on the table.

DH and I just got back from WDW and decided last minute not to use our TS credits for Jiko. We are going again in the Spring, so hopefully we will try it then. :-) Thank you for all the wonderful input!
