Hello all. I saw that the chef at Jiko has changed recently and was wondering if anybody had eaten there lately and what their experiences were. My husband and I are to go next month for his birthday dinner, and while I am super excited, I am a little nervous it might not be all I have dreamed of. Any input would be appreciated, as I have never eaten there.

Sorry, I think I put this in the wrong place. I am moving it.

I don't know if it is "as good", since last week was our first dinner there, however, it was very good. DH would rate it "on par" with his California Grill meal, if not better. I would rate it definitely better. I think that for atmosphere, Jiko's has CG beat. What CG has is "the view". Once you look out the window and settle down to enjoying your dinner, CG is slipping to just above average.

Annette has been gone from Jiko for a while now, and Brian (who came over from Le Cellier) has been doing a fantastic job of it. I went to a special dinner at Jiko in October and found it all outstanding.

I'd still recommend Jiko to anyone.

Posted Jan/Feb:

Chef Brian Piasecki has left Animal Kingdom's Jiko and is now the new Chef de Cuisine at the California Grill!

The new Chef De Cuisine at Animal Kingdom Lodge's Jiko is John Clark. Clark, who joins Jiko after a stint at the Grand Floridian, has been with Walt Disney World 24 years.

Interesting to see the how the chefs move. We just ate at Jiko last month, and I think it is as good. For a while I was afraid it was slipping, but we had a great night and excellent meal. FWIW.

DH and I went to Jiko in Oct and we loved it, the food and the service was just top notch. DH is still talking about that meal and cannot wait to eat there again this fall.
