Is it worth waiting?

Here's the situation - We have Dream-maker Silver package ressies for July and I did not apply my AAA discount to it yet. I have been told to do that soon and yet deep down I'm kind of waiting for discount codes to come out for July on Mousesavers. I'm not sure if I should just contact my AAA agent and get what I can from them OR keep waiting until April or so for the codes that may or may not come out. What do you all think I should do? I was told that they only have so many rooms at the AAA discount rate. So I guess it is kind of a gamble isn't it?

Just because you change your ressie to the AAA rate now doesn't mean that you cannot turn around and change it again to a better rate when (if) it comes out later. I say, nail down that AAA rate and then you know that you'll have at least some sort of discount.

I would nail down that AAA rate through Disney though not with your AAA agent. Then you will just be able to change it through CRO if a better rate comes out. My understanding is that WDW won't touch reservervations made by a travel agent.

I agree with BCV23, call disney and get the AAA rate. Then when discounts come out you can call and get that. That is what I did - hoping for discounts now!

We too are AAA members and we made reservations this am for POFQ in May. We went CRO direct and will go back and change if new codes come out soon. This way I know I have a room and if no codes surface I have still saved some money. ::MinnieMo :wave2: ::MickeyMo :wave2: ::MinnieMo

I tried to change to the AAA rates through Disney and they told me that I had to call my AAA travel agent and rebook through them. According to the CM that I spoke with, they can't give me the AAA rate on their own. That's why I'm not sure if I want to mess with it. I really don't want to start over, it would depend on what kind of discount they give. Does this make sense? I don't know why I can't just have Disney give me the AAA rate.

Last year I cancelled my AAA reservation. I cost me the trip insurance, I think about $70.00 but it was well worth booking through CRO my self when the code came out. I wouldn't book throught AA again. CRO give much more fleibility

Did you make your res with AAA or CRO. If you did it thru AAA then CRO can't make changes to it [messes up the agents commision]. I had the same problem last May with my Poly res.

No, I made the original ressies through WDTC thinking I was talking to someone in CRO.

I wonder if you had a new CM who didn't know about AAA rates through Disney.

I would try calling back and asking again.

im confused. new to the whole discount thing. i thaught you could only get a AAA rate for room only ressies. can you apply the AAA to your room if you have a pacakge?
