Is it worth visiting DCA during construction?

This has been the subject of other posts - but now construction seems to be heating up I was wondering if there's any up to date advice.

I've noticed on construction updates that there are still construction walls at the end of the Hollywood Pictures Backlot leading to the Hyperion Theater and the Tower of Terror - and that access to these places is by the backdoor so to speak.

Does anyone have any idea when the main entrances will be re-opened and the walls come down in front of the Hyperion Theater?

I notice that Aladdin is on the schedule for Nov/Dec ... but there appears to be scaffolding on the building now. Does that/will that affect access to the building to see the show?

We'll be visiting the DLR in late Nov/Dec - and I'm wondering, is a visit to DCA mainly a visit to a construction site for now? Are there walls "everywhere"? This is the way it appears to be from photos, but what's it like to walk in the park now through the various lands? :santa:

Well, if you visit DCA between now and the opening of Radiator Springs, I guarantee that you won't be able to avoid constructions walls. However, even with the construction, most of the existing attractions are open. So if you enjoy that attractions that DCA has to offer, yes, take time to visit. W

And actually, since WoC is showing, construction is now limited to only one side of the walkways. Prior to WoC it was much more congested walking in that area.

Since you are visiting before the holidays end, you won't have to worry about construction in the main entrance to DCA, either. They are holding off on moving the front gates, until next year. And don't forget that it will be your last chance to take photos of the large "C-A-L-I-F-O-R-N-I-A" letters.

Entrace to ToT and the Hyperion Theater is only through Flik's Fun Fair right now. So both are accessable while they work on the rail for the trolley. Flik's Fun Fair is nicely themed, in fact I like the themeing there better than Hollywood Pictures Backlot, so it's not that big of a deal to use that path.

I was there 2 weeks ago and yes there are a lot of construction walls but Disney does construction so neatly, the walls are all themed so it's not like your looking at some random ugly fence in the middle of the park. Instead there are walls up with Cars themed photos, Mickeys face, the Little Mermaid characters, etc so it doesnt take away from the 'magic'. I still had lots of fun, everything was open. They might have more construction going later on, but like the pp said, they most likely won't start major renovations until after the Holiday season.

I was there last week and the construction walls aren't an issue. There is still lots to see at DCA and you can enjoy it with the walls up. They don't spoil the day at all. As mentioned previously, they are all painted and decorated so they almost seem part of the park.

You do have to enter the Alladin theatre through the side doors, but it's no big deal. We had no problem getting in to see the show.

Go and enjoy.

The walls in the entry will be present. The ElecTRONica stage in front of the departing sunwheel will hide most of that the work right behind it..

The Little Mermaid wall will be hiding a mostly finished "shell" of the building. Down at the end of the pier will be some obvious construction with the new dining location work and MM retheming.

Carsland cranes will be sticking out but I'm sure your eyes will be drawn to the excitement of the rising rockwork which appears more finished everyday.

You won't see anything down by the Hyperion, that stuff is closing in on being done more every day.

Overall it will have small impact once you get under the monorail bridge.
