Is it worth upgrading seats on TCD?

We are flying with TCD in October and I am now considering trying to upgrade out seats. There are four of us, including two kids, 7 & 6.

To be honest I don't think I can justify the Sunshine First, but we are looking at either the Sunshine Premium or Sunshine Upper.

Has anyone any experience of these cabins, especially with children? Is it worth the extra?

I've not called TCD yet to see if these seats are available, but thought I would ask here first.

Thanks
Stephen

Sunshine First is fantastic and for 2 of us it is well worth the money, even if it did/has doubled the flight cost. There are age limits for children for the upgrades, no children under 6 for Sunshine Premium and Sunshine Upper and no children under 3 in Sunshine First.

We have travelled in the Upper Deck once and Sunshine First twice. It is a lot of money and I am still not sure if it is worth it as there are plus and minus points about it.

Plus - comfort - as I am on the lonnnnnng side, I hate being cramped so the leg pitch is worth it. Food OK. 40kg baggage allowance

Minus - Hand held huge video tape machines on your lap as there are no seat back tv's. Entertainment was pants!!! Almost horizontal recline - don't you believe it - I didnt even think i'd moved!!!!!!!!!!!

I would say Upper deck is more value for money as you do get the comfort.

Trying Premium economy next with Virgin which cost us the same as TCD Sunshine First!

First Choice Premium cabin gets top spot for me for now!!
