We are going to USF in September and staying at Portofino Bay Resort. Would it be worth $60 more per night to upgrade to club level which includes the concierge lounge (continental breakfast / Drinks all day / Hot food and sweets at night) ? :confused3 We are currently booked in a deluxe king room for $199 per night and club level would only be $259 per night. I would appreciate any input.

I would do it for that price too! :thumbsup2

I found the same rate for dates in September using an APH rate.

Please tell us how you found a $199 rate for PBH?!?! Is that an annual pass rate?

I have booked 4 nights @ RPR standard for $199 p/n + tax!!!!

Personally I would pay the additional $60 for concierge lounge.

It appears to be the APH rate for weeknights. The FLO rate (available to GA residents as well) is the same. I was always under the impression that PBH was more expensive than the other two, so I booked HRH. However this rate is $20 per night cheaper than I got. The deluxe rooms are a little smaller according to the square footage and they don't mention having a fold out sofa. I'll probably stick with HRH and hope the rates drop there before September, but just wanted to let you know how they got the $199.

Thanks for the input. The rate is the APH rate during the week. I think it is a good rate considering the fact that I have paid $249 per night for just a regular garden room. But $199 per night for deluxe is definately a good deal. $259 for club level - I think I do it. Thanks.

i know you already made your decision, but for myself and my family (my parents and my three brothers) we always stay on club level. You are getting a great deal -we are paying 319 a night for june 20 check in (APH) - but even if your rate was not as awesome as it is, i would tell you to go for it.

It is on average about 75 - 100 more a night, but for the complimentary soft drinks and water all day long - it is well worth it. I think a bottle of water in the park is around 4 dollars. Sure, it is probably cheaper to bring your own drinks from sam's or publix, but the convenience of it is unsurpassed. Plus, you do not have to worry about running out to get more, or lugging any extra home.

We typically wake up and have a small breakfast in the club room which saves even more money. It also depends on how many people are in your party, how many children you have and whether or not you are big breakfast eaters. It is basically continental with a little more. They have all the bagels and muffins, coffee, etc, and typically a hot item that changes daily. Cinnamon buns, maybe some eggs, that sort of thing.

We do not take advantage of the lunch because we typically eat out in the parks- and i think that we always miss the deserts, but everyone in my fam (with the exception of one) is now 21 so we take advantage of the free wine and beer happy hour. :)

We have had the dinner a few times. Food is good. I think that it is kind of hit or miss depending on your likes and dislikes.

Plus, I beieve that the Portofino club rooms are bigger than the Portofino standard rooms. Someone may be able to verify, but i think that is what the reservationist told me.

I know this was quite lengthy, but i wanted to point out what my family feels the value is. Our party is quite large - especially when you add the two nephews, a niece and two sister in laws - so the drinks throughout the day make it cost effective for us as well as that little bit of extra space in the room.

I can let you know more after we stay. This is our first portofino stay - but we have done club at both RPR and HRH so we can well attest to the value of club level. Enjoy! and let me know how it goes.

This is exactly the kind of answer that I was looking for; thanks.
