Is it worth paying for the Mandara Spa?

My BF and I are going to DL this weekend, and we are AP holders so we won't be going to the parks on Saturday (it's a blackout day). My BF is not a big fan of Disney parks--he's going to indulge me for my birthday a couple weeks ago. He's had a lot of long hours at work lately and his back is killing him, so I figured massages at the Mandara Spa would be a great treat for us on Saturday.

I've been reading some reviews here that were pretty negative, though, and I can't really find good information elsewhere. There is another spa folks recommend at The Block, but we won't have a car and we're checking out on Saturday, so we would have to leave the luggage at the Disneyland Hotel bell desk, take a taxi to The Block, get massages, take a taxi back to get our luggage, then hop in the taxi again to catch the train! And the spa at The Block is only $20 cheaper for the same massage.

So... have folks left the Mandara feeling angry and ripped off, or has it been more like "it was ok and maybe not worth that much money?" Because for us, it's probably Mandara or no massage at all... unless there is a small massage room at the Disneyland Hotel?

I really have a hard time justifying the price. It is really overpriced, and it doesn't provide the things that the price adjustment should warrant. No extras come with it, that would be expected.

It is something we love, but when I can get the same style at home for 44 dollars, or on an open air canopy on the beach for that price, it's hard for me to say yes to DLR's spa prices.

Heads up: Don't use "The BodyCentre". The staff was nice..but the massage was more of a rub than a massage and the shower had black mold (alot) on the curtain. I had gotten a package deal for only $150 (massage, wrap and scrub) but even at that great price I wouldn't do it again or recommend it.

(P.S I took a cab and it cost me around $50 to and fro)
