We will spending the day at Mk and was thinking about dinner at WC. We are not staying on property this time(free at MIL's timeshare) so I guess using disney buses are out. We will have a car, but I really did'nt want to have to repark,so can anyone tell me how long it takes by boat? We will be returning to MK, so is it worth it or should I just eat in the park? Oh, by the way we wanted something fun and new and have been to Ohana, and Chef Mickeys. This is the only green day for MK so we will be spending all day there. Opinions please.

sure. it would be a good break from the park. the boat takes about 20 minutes ~ more or less. be sure to make ADRs and arrive early; i have seen long waits at this restaurant, especially if the weather turns rainy!! enjoy!

boat ride is great- very relaxing- my kids loved it we are doing it agian this year

unless something's changed if you have a pass you can use the transportation

yes, we rarely eat in MK as i personally like getting out of the park to eat if it's open late. we just never really liked mk's food...might try cp again this time since it's been a while but imo wcc is a fun place and sometimes the resort places ( well except Ohana) seem a little less busy. like the others have said it doesn't take long to get there and the boat is nice. we also go to Trail's end on our mk day and talk about a change of pace, that's like culture shock after mk!

Yes you should take a break and go 2 WCC ! is it just me or is this the 2nd time ive seen this topic within 2days lol :smokin:

They never asked for room keys when getting on the busses, for us anyways.

I would actually take the bus to WL and then boat back to MK/CR, unless you have a seasickness issue. Bus is faster imo, you would not want to miss your ressie. And we eat so much at WCC that the longer relaxing boat ride does us well.

We are going to go to MK and WCC on our first day at WDW. We are taking an early flight so we expect to get to MK by noon(ish) and spend a few hours in the park and then hop on the boat over to the WL. I plan on checking out the resort some too to see if I want to stay there on one of the next trips. However, we wanted to do WCC to try something new and different... that and I know dbf is going to ask for ketchup (he eats ketchup on EVERYTHING)! :rotfl2:

So yeah, I'd say it would be a nice break to head over and have dinner at WCC. You can just hope on the boat for a nice relaxing ride over, and then do the same thing coming back. As others have mentioned, you could also take the bus. There wouldn't be any need for you to drive over there.

Enjoy!

Thanks so much for info,we will definitely keep our ADR. I know there have been alot of posts about WCC, but I had seen anything about transportation. I have never been to WL at all, and just did'nt want a long travel time. I will just check the boat dock time scheldule in the morning and I'm sure we can avoid the missed the boat horror stories I have read.

Or remember there is now a bus to WL too that will be quicker for arriving at WL. Finally after the family not being interested and cancelling 3 ADRs (well at the time they were PS) I got the family to eat dinner at WCC. It became a highlight of the trip for everyone. They loved the ketchup routine, and DS17 was singled out for the large mason jar of Sprite, and diners warned to avoid him in the pool. DD22 got chastised for drawing on the menu, etc, etc. It was wonderful, and the entire crew loved it.
