Is it worth it to YOU to upgrade to Mod.?

I'd go for the mod, as long as you can live without that $430. We think there is a huge difference between values and moderates. Now, we had debates on if it was worth it to upgrade to a deluxe, but that is a much larger difference. We don't like to stay in values for more than a 3 day trip or so, we feel too cramped.

This happened to us a couple years again- we got the stay 5 nights get 2 free promotion and so we upgraded! It will be hard to ever go back to a value. We LOVE the pool at the moderates, not to mention the frige, bigger beds, and extra sink. (Totally love POR)

I don't find the mods to be all that different from the values, honestly. The big difference is the "restaurant on site" but I can't think of one that's even worth trying.

The landscaping at mods is a bit more lush, but for me not really worth the extra price.

Now, a deluxe is completely different.

okay i already posted but am posting again. My family falls into the never going to Disney again if we have to stay at the values. It might be some peoples cup of tea but my family felt like the values equated to a motel 6 stuck into the middle of a mall on a friday night. We did not enjoy the atmosphere at all and the CM's were just downright unfriendly when they were not standing around complaining about their jobs.

We stayed at POR for our Christmas 2010 trip and it was completely different. The CM's went above and beyond and they were just plain helpful. The restaurant was lovely (Boatwrights) and on a night when my kids were so tired and just wanted to go back to the room they packed everything up for us including dessert. It was a vacation. It was relaxing to go back to the resort. There were times it felt like we were the only people at the resort. The CM's in the food court had no problem explaining the dining plan to us (what exactly was included) as opposed to the exceptionally rude man at the ASMu food court.

It was nowhere near the same as staying at ASMu, LEAGUES apart.

10 years ago I would have said no and did! Now they are. We like the larger beds and we spend a lot more time now at the resort than we did before. And when DD was younger she LOVED ASMo and didn't want to go anywhere else, it was a lot of fun!

For us it will be worth it. We never stayed at a value every time I book a value I end up upgrading because I am very picky and I am always afraid I would hate and ruin our vacation.

No way would that be worth it to me... think of all the other things you could spend that money on. Unless you've got so much money it doesn't matter.. ?

With a Disney vacation, you're almost always at the parks anyways, right? How much time will you actually spend at your hotel?
