Is it worth getting AAA for Disney discount?

Wondering what the discount is for Disney Resorts is if you have AAA. Is it worth purchasing just to get discount?

The AAA discounts typically vary from 10%-20% based on the resort you're staying at and the time of year. I have the like AAA for the free maps, triptiks (maps in a handy booklet form that shows where there is construction, which exits have gas, lodging and food, and rest stops), tourbooks, etc.

I have AAA Plus which provides free towing up to 100 miles, $100 locksmith service, delivery of fuel - with some free - up to 100 miles. So to me, AAA is worth it (and we've used it), even without the Disney discounts.

I would say it is if it costs less than what you'd pay for rack rate. We had booked POR for 12/12/03 - 12/16/03 at $148 p/night w/taxes and when I called to switch it to my AAA rate it was $118 p/night. Plus I'm saving about $9 p/ticket for our 4 day park hopper (no pluses as we are just hitting the parks) and on top of that we got Diamond Parking passes. I think it cost me $63 to join AAA for me and my two children.

Please note that when you call CRO to book the room they will ask for your AAA number.

The only reason I joined AAA was for the Disney discount $366.00 before (ASSports) $311.00 after discount savings of $55.00 and my son locked the keys to the minivan in the minivan in the parking lot of ASSports and they came and did it for free. I only have the basic and rented the van in Philly and drove it down, so for me it was way worth it and will sign up again.

I booked AKL with AAA discount (by the way, always exactly the same as DC discount) and after doing the numbers, ended up changing it to AP discount. Saves us, even after buying the pass, over $200.

So, consider buying an AP instead.
