Is it weird for 2 adults (35, 54) to go to character meals?
Mom and I have planned Garden Grill, Chef Mickeys and Norway Princess meals. I didn't know if there would be other adults only there. How do the characters interact with just adults? I know everyone is a kid at WDW but I don't want to feel rushed or ignored either.
Thanks!

No way is it weird! How about 6 adults at a character breakfast. We do it all the time and have so much fun! I've been to just about every character breakfast and only once did we have a kid with us. The characters definitely won't skip over you just because there's no kids. Usually when we have all adults, we all take turns taking pictures. And they'll still interact with us. I think Goofy wanted to dance with me at one of the breakfasts. Go and have a good time! I'm sure you'll find plenty of other tables with just adults.

Not at all, Mrs Tibbs and I do it all the time, it's just Disney spirit, relax and enjoy!

not at all! dh and I did the Mickey visa pic this year without the kids! :) Dh wanted Biergarten, but I would have been just as happy at a character meal!

I hope not! I'm looking forward to my birthday breakfast with Eeyore at the CP! ;)

Not at all!!! I'm 45 and we go all the time!!! We have Ohana and Garden Grill planned for November.

We have a better time than any kid!!! ;)

DGF and I went to Crystal Palace, Akershus, Cinderella's Royal Table, Garden Grill, Chef Mickey's and Ohana breakfast on our last trip. She's 33 and I'm 25 and we had a blast! It was mostly taking pictures and getting autographs from the characters but there was a lot of great interaction too. Garden Grill was our favorite for the character interaction. Chip even got into our booth and gave DGF a big hug and a kiss. :lmao:

Nope, not at all. DH is 44, I'm 37 and we were at a character breakfast EVERY MORNING on our last trip. Yup, some may call it overkill, we call it - Disney Spirit! We love the character meals, they are so much fun.

I took DD to breakfast at Akershus, just me and her, when she was 18 months old. In the area where we sat, there were 2 different tables of adults only. The princesses had GREAT interaction with the adults, so I definitely say go for it!

My DH doesn't consider a trip complete until he's had breakfast at Crystal Palace with Pooh & the gang. We try to keep our character interactions brief, so they can concentrate their time on little kids, but usually the characters will make both us us get up for pictures anyway.

You will get the full character experience whether you want it or not. You won't be considered weird, I promise!

No way is it weird !! I can't even count how many times I've been to character meals without kids. It's a blast..... it's so much fun to just watch how the characters interact w/ the kids. (and you can also get some fun pictures~!!) :goodvibes

When DW turned 30, not only did we leave the kids at home to go do a Disney Trip by ourselves, but we went to Crystal Palace ( She likes Eeyore ) for dinner. Not weird at all and the characters will interact with you!

Just to throw in my two cents: my parents and I (we're all adults) did CRT last trip and it was a lot of fun. None of us really wanted to pose for pictures with the characters (not something I really liked doing even as a child), so we took a little trip mascot (Figment) along with us and had the Princesses pose with him. They were all very happy to do so and it was very cute (the server even gave Figment a wand).

So, if you want to do character meals, but don't have children with you, I say go for it! Disney is the best place in world to be like a kid again.

DH and I had great interaction at Chef Mickey's and the Epcot Visa pic stop, not so good interaction with the face characters at 1900 PF. But - that's not stopping us from Tusker House and CP next trip! :)

To me, there's almost nothing better than getting a hug from an old friend. I wasn't sure I'd care when we went 2 years ago and finally made time for characters, but it just takes you right back to being a child again. :)

DD (27) and I always do at least one character meal. We stand in line for pictures with the characters in the parks. I have never felt uncomfortable. We are all kids in WDW!

We are two forty-something BFFs taking on the World for a girls only trip on the DxDP this time!! I was feeling the same way about booking Character Meals.

So, RobinK, thanks for asking the question and now I'M EXCITED TOO!!!!:dance3:

I'm in my late 50s, and I've gone to several character meals solo. Now that might seem wierd to some people, but I have such a great time and the characters are so friendly!

Well then call us wierd and wierder:rotfl2: DH and I are WELL into our 50s and we always book at least one character meal. OK, I'll admit that I'm a bit more enthusiastic than he is. But he still gets a kick out of getting a hug and kiss on his bald spot from Minnie, or goofing around for the camera with Goofy. This year its dinner with Pooh and friends-can't wait to see what he'll get up to with Tigger:).
