Is it warm enough in October to swim?

We are planning on going mid-October and we currently are booked at the new courtyard with the waterpark. Now I am wondering if we are really going to be able to swim comfortably at that time of the year. Does anyone have experience with this?

It really depends on where you're from. And what you're use to.
We've gone in January, February and March, the weather in SoCal is similar to our spring/summer weather.
My grandkids swim and wear shorts every day. They might wear a light sweatshirt in the evenings.

We've had heat waves of upper 90s or 100 degrees in October before. Of course, that's not necessarily the norm but October can be very warm. Actually, it's a month that can go in a few different directions, weather-wise (dry, humid, windy, drizzly, super hot, comfortable and in the low 70s, etc.), and we never know which direction that will be.

It probably will be warm enough. I always say that the parks feel 10 degrees hotter than anywhere else, so it is nice to head back to your hotel for an afternoon swim. The weather can be unpredictable though, as Sherry mentions above. I have been in Feb (mid-70s), March (mid-90s) and late-Nov (mid to high 70s) and it was warm enough to swim each time. The only time I didn't want to swim, believe it or not, was in May, when you think it would be warmer! My friends were there the weekend before Thanksgiving last year and it was in the high 90's!!

It should be ok to swim. I remember a couple years ago we were all sweating in our Halloween costumes it was so hot. And if your kids are like mine the temperature matters little when it comes to water fun.

Wouldn't the pool be heated anyways?

However, I'm kind of worried about stuff like those gas heaters I often see poolside. I'm especially freaked out after the poolside fire in Las Vegas at The Cosmopolitan.

We are not big swimmers, but swam quite a bit when we were there last October. Plenty warm and no need for heaters.

It will likely be warm enough for a mid-day swim. Once the sun goes down it gets chilly though. Our past Oct trips have been shorts and tshirts during the day and add a sweatshirt at night, sometimes put on pants instead of shorts.

It is often warm (sometimes hot) in the afternoon in October but when the sun goes down it can get a bit too chilly for swimming.

From Arizona, and absolutely warm enough to swim.

All I see are smiles.

I don't know about this hotel specifically, but most pools in California are not heated as it just isn't necessary.

Not sure about that. Most public pools I've been to are heated. The municipal pool in the city where I grew up had solar panels on the community center (next to the pool) to heat the water. I've been there when it was pretty cold outside and the water was definitely heated.

In any case, I've stayed at this Courtyard, but didn't use the pool. Here's their photo and caption:
