is it true now once cars land opens every day will be and EE of some sort? so if you don't have ee you will be an hour behind all who did have ee no matter what day you go?

I think the EE promotion is scheduled to end mid-September for AP holders. So, it will probably switch to a rotating EE schedule for onsite guests (and probably 3-day or more parkhoppers, though I'm not sure if that has been announced at all for CA. I think the summer is onsite only...) after that, most likely with CA EE days in the mix. I would expect that they would have EE only at one park per day as a regular schedule, and that they days would switch back and forth between DL and CA.

What the heck are you guys talking about? What is an EE. I'm a pass holder and I have no idea.

Never mind. It means early entrance.

To OP - my understanding is that DCA will open 1 hour early (EE = early entry) for AP holders and maybe on-site guests - I don't think the 2nd has been official. Your supposition that if you are not in those categories you CAN'T be the first ones in the park. We have to consider that on our trip, but there is little can be done about it.

ok thanks i went and read thought some the superthread. I was confused yet now im less confused and looks to be we may try get one mm after all oct trip so it may be worth it to us.

The second has been confirmed: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/hotels/resort-benefits/

All updates and information (as we know it right now) can be found in the Early Admission (MM/EMH/APEE) Super Thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1675403

It has been made official:

DCA APEE - Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun

DCA Disney Resort Guest EMH - Mon, Wed, Fri

With the opposite days for DL (and those guests who hold passes of 3 or more days have one MM for DL on T, Th, Sa, Su)

So that is correct, there is some form of early entry to both parks every day, at least until September, as of June 18.

I'm bummed out about it too. We'll only have one day where we can enter an empty DL, all the other days we'll be an hour behind. CA will be mobbed before we can even get through the gate. It's going to present a touring challenge for sure. I look forward to hearing form those Late June, Early July travelers!

I think "mobbed" is an overstatement. There are 990 rooms at the Disneyland hotel, 745 rooms at Grand Cali, and 481 at paradise pier. Let's assume hotels are 90 % full, average # of guests per room is 3, and 75 % of the guests decide to go to the park available to DLR guests only (some may not get up at 7 AM to take advantage, others might choose the other park if they have an AP), that's 4,500 guests in the park early. Not inconsequential, but not "mobbed" either.

Well, I'll have an AP but not until I get there in July and activate it. So, I'll probably be trying to sign up for the APEE as soon as I am activated in the system. I'm not letting it bother me, if I get the APEE I get it, if not then I don't. Either way I'll just deal with whatever happens.

I agree that mobbed may be an overstatement, especially where the APEE's are concerned. Has DL ever done EE for AP holders before? I wonder how many AP holders will even realize it's an option. And are willing to actually get up and get to DL before 7 am. Also, each PH only gets one EE for each park for the entire summer, and you have to sign up in advance, so I suspect the parks (especially DL) won't really be all that crowded that early on APEE days.

Or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part, since we are already signed up!

And from what I read, the AP holders have to schedule their EE in advance through the DL website or calling ahead. You get one EE per park for the entire season per AP. So it is limited to a certain number of people each day, not just anyone with an AP who wants to come in every day.

That's us too. We are going to try too. I may be able to talk DH in to a September trip so I might have a chance then. But with people in the park early every morning it does throw off my "system". :rotfl:

I'm contemplating a trip in late August. If you had to place a bet, would you plan on going to DCA when it opens to the general public on days when it's open early for AP holders or days when it's open early for hotel guests?

I'm thinking hotel guests might be the better day?

I'm doing the trip fairly last minute (well, for me anyway) and will probably not want to spend the money to stay "on site."

It's a tough question - but the hotel days are limited to ~4,500 people, as I calculated above. The AP holders are slightly harder to predict, but their are 1 MILLION of them. They are probably going to limit a maximum per day, but I suspect that number would be the greater of the two.

MY strategy (we are staying off-site and not AP holders) is our first day in Sunday, we will go to DL and use our EE status as having 3-day hoppers, AP holders have DCA that day. On Monday, we will go to DCA first, which is a hotel guest day but AP holders get DL, right?

Thanks, that helps...mostly because that's what I was thinking ;)

This is what I am hoping for!!! Not everyone has it in them to get up super early

Thanks, skier, I had asked that question in another thread - I like your answer!

I know coming from eastern time, we'll be up for the EMH, and I'm hoping lots of other people just can't drag themselves out of bed that early on vacation!

Wait a second...are the AP EE days at CA different than the days it will be open for resort guests? I had assumed it would be the same days. Can someone please clarify? Thanks!:goodvibes
