WILL THEY LET ME IN THE PARKS WITH IT?? GOING TO ANIMAL KINGDOM FIRST DAY AND AT NITE, MAGIC KINGDOM???

I need 5 days total, i guess i'll buy the 4 day pass if they take it?? HELP!

:rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Yep, it's true. ::yes::
The policy is you can use passes no matter how old they are, however the park has to have been open when the pass was issued. Meaning if your ticket was from 1997 it wouldn't be valid at DAK which opened in 1998.
Also tickets that were issued before we switched to the ATS (computer ticketing system) would have to be exchanged for an "ATS Friendly" ticket (At no extra charge!) Hope this helps!

Thanks for that info "Flower4Pwr" I was just about to ask that same question as I have 1 Day left on a 1996 Value Pass. I will go to Guest Services and exchange it to a "ATS Friendly" ticket to one of the three Parks that were open at the time.

Thanks again!!!

I thought Disney changed this and now allow you admittance to AK on old hoppers?

Not true any longer. Any ticket can be used for admission to any current theme park whether it was open at the time the ticket was purchased or not once it is exchanged at Guest Relations.

That part is correct. ;)

The Value Pass was not a park hopping ticket. It was a one park ticket. You could go to MK on one day, Epcot on another, MGM on the third day, and the fourth was your choice. While you can still use the left over day today, the Guest Relations CM exchanging it should issue you a one day/one park ticket in exchange for that day. However we all know that not every CM does things the way they should be done. Expect this and if you get a CM who gives you more (a park hopper ticket) consider it an unexpected surprise.

BTW, the ticket you get back will be good at any of the four parks.

If I remember correctly the magnetic stripe tickets were in use in 1999 so the hopper pass from back then can be used as-is.

To reduce confusion, try to use up the pass you have before buying another. If you have two passes loose in your pocket it is easy to waste a day by accidentally using both at different turnstiles on the same day. (This strategy doesn't always work because you may need a new hopper pass to hop to, say, Blizzard Beach if the old pass had no plusses left, you just have to be careful which pass you used when. Or if the old pass was replaced by a one day one park pass and you wanted to park hop the first day, you would have to buy your new hopper immediately and use up the old pass on your second day.)

Some "value" passes expired so many days after the first usage. Even if yours did, there is a chance the ticket agent may overlook that restriction and give you a replacment mag stripe pass for the one remaining day from 1996. Incidentally the remaining dollar value of that pass, if it hadn't expired, would be about $30., well less than one day's worth of a five day pass if you tried to combine it all on one transaction and purchase.
