Is it too late?

Our cruise leaves tomorrow and I want to cancel an excursion I have booked for Wednesday. The reservations operators insist I can't cancel because I'm within 48 hours of sailing, but I thought I had to cancel within 48 hours of the excursion itself.

Will they let me cancel at Guest Services when I get on board, or am I going to have to eat the cost of the excursion I won't be going on?

We cancelled a banana boat ride booked for my sons at Casraway Cay the day before it was due to happen by going to Guest Services and weren't charged. I'm not sure how it would work for an excursion Disney were offering through another operator though.

The policy is that you can cancel up to 48 hours before you embark on the cruise, regardless of when the excursion itself takes place.

If it is a Castaway Cay excursion you might luck out. If it's elsewhere it might depend on if DCL can "sell" your excursion slot to another guest.

If it is a medical reason, they will refund the price of the excursion. I know that for sure. I was on the ship a week before my knee surgery. I had gone on an excursion in Key West, Grand Cayman, and had one booked for Cozemel. By the time we got there, I couldn't go any further. There was no way I could do that excursion. They refunded my excursion due to the fact it was a medical reason. They told me that was the only way to refund it once you were actually sailing.

We were able to cancel onboard because there was a waiting list of people wanting the excursion we had booked. Try when you get onboard. I canceled the day before with no problem, but if there isn't a waiting list of people wanting it, they may not let you.
