Is it too early to start packing??

DH thinks it is. When I told him we should start packing some stuff he rolled his eyes at me. We leave April 25 and I'm starting to stress big time! I think if I start packing shorts and tshirts it should be ok because I doubt the kids will be wearing them prior to May. What do you guys think?:confused3

We leave May 1st and I started packing about 2 weeks ago! I hate being stressed about getting it all done at the last minute! So go for it! :goodvibes

Sometimes packing ends up being a big responsibility to the mom's especially. If Dh had to pack we would probably be missing shirts or something. :lmao: Dh would think I was nuts to pack too. I do usually start getting things that are ONLY for the trip together. I find if I just make lists of everything that needs packed it makes me feel better and I can just pack the regular stuff closer to the time.

ok i leave for disny this coming friday...i havent begun to pack..and im packing for 5..i think its a bit early

We leave in 7 weeks, and I started packing! I packed things that I know I'd forget if I packed all at once. I also packed my daughter's new Disney clothes. She can't wear them before the trip, so I figured I'd pack them. Why not? It makes me feel so proactive and so organized. Plus, it's make the trip feel sooner!!

Funny you should mention this because I am going at the same time and I was hoping to start packing tomorrow. I do have 4 kids though and I have to do it super early and get organized. Besides, packing and getting ready to go is half the fun right! My DH doesn't get it either, but it's so exciting! Pack away and I'll be doing the same thing!

This is my dh to a tee - LOL. I will be packing on and off for the next two weeks and he will literally through his things in the night before. Amazingly though he is never missing anything and his clothes don't seem to wrinkle!

Me OTOH packing for my 2 dd's and myself, taking my time, making lists, using ziplocks and I always forget something:confused3

I have done some of the kids shorts and bathing suits but its warming up here and my dd's will want their short sleeved shirts so I will have to wait on some things. Luckily we have and extra room so I can keep the suitcases open and put things in as I go.

as i/we take each trip the packing seems to get closer to departure day
i do however keep a box (or 2+) of just disney items so thats almost always ready to just grab n go

This is planningcrazymom's daughter and we don't leave until September 27th of this year and she started buying and packing simple things about a year ago. Hince the user name.

I would say that if makes you feel better and helps keep your sanity- go for it!! I started gathering things way early but probably didn't actually put things in the suitcase until two weeks prior to the trip.

We leave on the 6th and I have not begun packing. I probably will next weekend, because the few days prior to our leaving are busy. I did go away to Lancaster, Pa. this weekend and shopped so I have alot of new summer clothes. I live near Cape May, NJ and my kids have been in t-shirts a few times and shorts a few times. If the forecast stays true for this week, they may be in them again.:cool1:

Well I must say you have inspired me. I am going to start packing this weekend. We leave on the 12th. But I did buy all new clothes for the kids (even underwear :lmao: ) so I will start packing all that for now.

We're not going til May 5th and I've already washed and ironed all DD's summer clothes! It's time to do DH's and mine now!:laundy: :rotfl:
I think that if you want to start now then go for it!:thumbsup2

I find that I work better under pressure:lmao: If I start to pack early it will take me forever deciding which cute outfits I should bring. I usually do it the night before we leave!!

I didn't read all of the posts so forgive me if I'm repeating anything...

How about making a list? This is what I do when I start to stress out about forgetting something. I don't actually start packing until a day or two before the trip because I don't want the suitcases/bags sitting around. Plus, I have noticed that things tend to magically disappear when I do this. So...I make a list, add to it when I think of something else and mark things off as I pack them. Good luck! ;)

I thought I was the only one. We leave on April 21 and I have been DYING to start packing! :) This weekend I'll start a collection of Disney only things (winnie the pooh tote bag, fanny pack for DF (I don't know why but he likes it), waterpark money/room key holder, etc) then I'll really start packing the following weekend - 2 weeks out. I make the list in excel, so I just print the same list every time we go. That way I don't forget anything that I might have remembered on the previous trip.

You are so organized! I too cannot wait to start packing!

We are also leaving on the 6th, and I for one am ready to pull out the suitcases now! I guess just seeing the clothes going in them makes things better. We will not start until this weekend, a couple of days before is enough I guess. :woohoo:

Don't think it is too early at all. Im leaving in 44 days but...who's counting. Already have the kids swimsuits,t-shirts and shorts piled up on a shelf in each of there closets. If they can't reach it they cant wear it LOL! Haven't had the guts to look at my summer stuff yet. That will have to wait. Have a great trip.
