Is it too early to start packing??

Well....I wouldn't admit this to just anyone... We leave 4/27 and I did a small practice "pack" today.:lmao: I packed everything that my husband and I would need to see what would fit in our one big suitcase with wheels...in my defense, we were trying to decide if we needed to buy another suitcase. Anyway, the packing got me so excited to go!!!:cheer2: I definately need to wait for a couple more weeks before doing that again. :) I am such a planner, it is hard for me to not want to have everything organized. Oddly enough I live in Michigan and thought we wouldn't be wearing much in the way of summer clothes before we left...it was 77 today! That is definately a heat wave for Michigan in March:cool1:

Don't think it is too early at all. Im leaving in 44 days but...who's counting. Already have the kids swimsuits,t-shirts and shorts piled up on a shelf in each of there closets. If they can't reach it they cant wear it LOL! Haven't had the guts to look at my summer stuff yet. That will have to wait. Have a great trip.

Tell me about it...just the though of putting my bathing suit on before July gives me the heebii jeebies! :scared1:

We leave 4/22 and I have already packed for the kids and myself. DH likes to pack for himself and we usually do it together anyway but he likes to wait till a few days before. I have a great system worked out and love to pack and plan. I have a toiletry bag that is always packed. It has all the toiletries in ziplock bags. Every few months I go through the bag and check expiration dates and what ever needs replenishing I do that. We ship our toiletries down to the resort a few days before our trip. This makes it so easy so all I have to do is get the stuff out of the toiletry bag, and plop it in a box to ship down. I make a few lists. One list for each persons stuff to go in their own suitcase.(we each have a carryon only and whatever doesn't fit, doesn't come!) One list each for our bags we bring for the plane to keep us entertained. Then I have a list of things to do/buy before our trip. A list of things to do around the house before we leave like taking out the trash, etc. I even have a list of things to put in my day bag for park touring. OK, maybe I'm queen of the lists but it really helps keep me organized!LOL:lmao: I have yet to forget something. Our suitcases are in easy reach in a hall closet so the temptation to start early is unavoidable for me!!LOL I never think it is too early to pack. I will say that it is easier to pack because we will usually have a trip in Nov so packing the summer things is doable and this time is doable because the weather around here really hasn't warmed up enough for summer clothing. So it was easy to pack up those things for our trip in April. Now if I was planning a trip in the summer I wouldn't be able to pack so early. Then again I would never go in the summer!;)

DH thinks it is. When I told him we should start packing some stuff he rolled his eyes at me. We leave April 25 and I'm starting to stress big time! I think if I start packing shorts and tshirts it should be ok because I doubt the kids will be wearing them prior to May. What do you guys think?:confused3

Definatly NOT...We already have about 90% of our stuff packed. We do it early that way you have plenty of time to think in case you might have forgotten something:thumbsup2

Count me in as one of the "early packers." Like, the day I make the reservations ;)! It actually drove me crazy when we had really warm weather last fall and I couldn't pack a lot of the kids' clothing since they were still wearing it, lol!

For any weeklong vacation we take I start putting things aside that I've bought specifically for the trip very early. About a month beforehand I even buy all new toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. so I can go ahead and pack them. (I don't mind buying "extra" of those since I know we'll use them anyway.)

Honestly, for me half the fun is the planning, including planning what to bring. I love my packing lists!

We leave the 23rd of April. We have started packing. I had to get some new clothes. So it was easier to throw them in the suit case after re washing clothes have been sitting there all winter long.
