ive done it. we didnt get a deal like that, but this was 12 years ago and we already had disney tickets.
we got free tickets to universal for doing it. it was much longer than 90 minutes though. we had to be out at the bus at 7 am. then it was a 20 minute ride to the timeshare. they agve a breakfast, but it was gross muffins. then we sat through a 90 minute presentation. then they had people that would take each couple and try to convince them this was a good deal. and they atlk to you forever, no matter how many times you say no. then finally they let you go back to the buss. as soon as everyone is dine either buying one or not, then you get brought back to your hotel. we were probably back around 10:30.
i would never do it again.
and and the hotel we were staying at, by the time we got back, the busses to the parks had already left, so we had to rent a car(although now, i rent a car everytime even if i stay in the park)

We did a 90 min. I had same problem with their transportation. Once I got what I had come for, which was "theme park" tickets. (Of course, I thought tickets would be for Universal or Disney. They were for Sea World.) I called a cab using my cell phone.
On the other hand, my uncle has done these several times. He has always been satisfied. He now owns a timeshare after saying "no" for 10 years. One place invited him back 3 or 4 times. Allowing him to stay in a very nice place for half the cost. He says the trick is to really sound interested right from the start. That way they weed you through to a manager faster.

Almost all of our Orlando visits have included timeshare lodging. However, only the first visit with our whole family in 1997 included a timeshare presentation. Though I've since purchased two timeshare weeks I've never gone to another presentation and wouldn't waste my vacation time on one in the future.

I think your decision should be based on how much vacation time you're willing to give up for the inducements that are offered. As the previous poster indicated - don't expect to get in and out within 90 minutes. They don't count transporation time or time for the 'free' breakfast or any other preliminary time before a presentation actually begins. You'll probably spend at least 2 hours and possibly more on the 90 minute presentation. And please note that if you're married both husband and wife will have to attend in order to get the 'free' awards.
If you're vacationing for a couple of weeks then maybe it would be worth it to you. But then again, if you're like me you won't want to waste your valuable vacation time.

I did it at Sheraton Vistana Villages and it was a lot more than 90 minutes. It was very hard sell--after I'd said no several times, they sent out a second guy who was actually acting angry at me for being so stupid that I wasn't gonna buy. Then, as prompt as the transportation to the resort was, getting out was a real problem. I ended up taking a cab to WDW. What I did wasn't really worth it--I got 2 one day tix for $25 apiece, so I did save quite a bit of money. But . . . it wasted more than $100 worth of my precious WDW vacation time.

I only did it because I was doing an offsite/onsite split stay, and I hadn't realized I couldn't get my tickets before checking in at Coronado Springs. My son wanted to go to MK the first day, but it wasn't really in our budget. That day was a lesson in how NOT to do WDW (cheap timeshare tickets, staying offsite etc.--if that were the only WDW we experienced, we wouldn't be fans of WDW vacations.)

We've done a couple of time shares and neither were worth the time or agressiveness of the people trying to sell you on buying one. As the posters previously have stated, it's a lot more than 90 minutes.

One of the ones we went to ran out of tickets so they gave us a check for the amount of the tickets but we could only cash them at a Sun Bank. At that time, we were new to Florida and finding a Sun bank was a pain.

The second time we went was in the Bahamas and they gave us a good rate on their "inferior" resort and tried to get us to buy so we could be moved to their "better" resort. The guy giving us the spiel really got mad at us and after we told him a number of times we weren't interested, he asked us why we even bothered coming. That we were wasting his time talking to us. We talked to other couples later and we were told their person was the same way.

From our experience, you do get what they promise you but at a price. Never again. To us it's not worth the hard sell.

yeah, we had a lady say to us "why would come if you knew you didnt want to buy one" i told her straight out that we came for the free tickets, she stopped selling at that point.

Most of these are hard sell, longer than they need to be and they can leave you feeling a bit stressed later that day too. Before you commit, be sure that you're really okay with sacrificing at least a half-day of your joyfully anticipated family vacation. There's a trade-off to everything and this is no different. :sad2:

We love to vacation in spacious, comfortable, amenity-loaded timeshares. So when we're staying in an area with other timeshare resorts, we sometimes drive over and ask at the front desk about their model units and/or a resort map "for a possible future stay." We only stay as long as we want - no pressure but no freebies either. We normally turn down the sale pitch tours with freebies. Unless we're on a resort-rest-and-relaxation kind of trip - these tours are too "costly" for us. ;)
