My husband and I got married 5/10/08. We knew that we wanted to honeymoon at Disneyland but with finances the way they were in May, we couldnt afford to go until now. We will be leaving Nov1st to spend 5 days in Disneyland and will be taking my 6year old and my 11year old. Should we still tell Disneyland its our Honeymoon? Its not traditional, but we couldnt see spending any time at Disneyland without the kids! advice please????:lovestruc

I don't see why not! It's up to you guys! We're going to have our nondisney destination wedding in May 2010 and then have our disneymoon in september.. we just can't take too much time off in a row and value season means we can stay in a deluxe for longer!

whatever makes you happy :goodvibes

It certainly still can be your honeymoon! I'm planning on going to Hawaii in October next year, 5 months after our wedding, for our honeymoon.

Of course you should consider it your honeymoon!!! I took two honeymoon trips and one was 2 months after my actual wedding. My husband is in medical school so his hours are quite crazy. We wanted to take a 2 week trip to Belize but couldn't go that long right after the wedding. We got married Sept 22nd, 2008. We were not able to take our Belize honeymoon until he had a break at the very end of November. We then decided to also take a mini honeymoon to Disney for the week after our wedding. I considered them both honeymoons and told the resorts and everyone else too. This year we wanted to return to Disney for our anniversary but couldn't until December, so I'm calling our December trip our anniversary trip because that is what it is in spirit, if not directly so on the calendar.

If you're celebrating your wedding, then it's your honeymoon! :)

Thank you guys for your wisdom! I think I already knew the answer just needed a "push" in the right direction! I started packing today, yay! Cant wait to leave but not looking forward to the 12 hour car ride with the kids, lol Im sure I'll figure out some ways to keep them occupied!

Have a great time!!! :goodvibes

Of course you can!! You are not the only one that has not been able to have a honeymoon immediately after your wedding. Nowadays, things that may seem traditional have changed- different times call for different measures.

You better tell everyone you are on your honeymoon & make sure to wear your buttons!!:goodvibes

We got married in WDW in July and my whole family was there for the whole trip!

We are now going back in May and we are calling it our official honeymoon and the lady put it on our booking.

Absolutely!!! If it is what you consider to be your honeymoon it definitely is!! Why not go for it! Enjoy!!
