Is it still a problem getting charged for CRT while on the DDP?

A few years ago folks were having a problem with getting charged when making a CRT ADR for the full amount, even if the made the ADR while linking their DDP. Is that an on-going problem? I make ADRs in 6 days and I want to make sure I won't be charged. Thanks!

CRT ADRs are still charged full price to the credit card used to make the reservation, even with DDP, TiW, or AP discounts, Disney will still charge for the full meal. Once you're at the restaurant, then they'll find a way to use the dining plan, or apply the appropriate discount.

Getting the money back has been a mixed bag. Some say it's a gift card, some say the refund was credited back to the card used.

When we recently made ADR's at CRT we were charged the full amount for our 6 meals. Our credit card was credited the full amount when we finished our meal at CRT.

We have the dining plan in November and were not charged in May when I made our reservation at CRT. The dining plan was linked in my MDE account.

For those of you that say you were charged, do you remember linking the ADR to your MDE? I have also read of folks calling and having Disney make the reservation for you and they are able to make sure it's linked and you are not charged.

I am on DDP and booked CRT on My Disney Experience. I had the option to either pay by credit card or to reserve with DDP credits. I can't remember how it was phrased as I booked in April but I have booked a couple of times for our trip in October and have not been charged at all to my credit card. It was an option that I ticked though so I knew for sure that there would be no charge as I had chosen the DDP credit option. I hope that helps.

ditto. I think in the past if you booked online you had to pay and then call to have them credit you back and use the DDP credits but I believe last year or so they updated the website so that you can choose to use the DDP.
