Is it really full in Jan?

Wanting to camp 1st week of Jan. FW shows that nothing is available. Is this usually the case?

This is value/slower season. We had a hard time getting in also. Something is not right. We finally called first thing in the morning and got in. So, keep trying.

You might want to call the reservation line, but I think it's too early to book campsites for January.

All Resorts can be booked 500 days out. Call, call, call.

Definitely call. Disney is upgrading their reservation system so the online booking doesn't seem to work all of the time.

The first weekend in Jan. is marathon weekend, which can fill out the fort nicely. When we've done it, the fort is usually full that friday, sat. and sun., but empties out big time on monday. If you're looking to be there over that weekend, that's probably what's keeping you from getting reservations.

I would keep trying - a few days ago there was NOTHING for this Halloween. I even called and was told the only site left was a Premium one. Now this morning there is every type of site available on Disney Reservations checking in the 31st. Oddly enough, they are all $2 more per night than they were last week(!?) I guess it was just a computer upgrading thing and they weren't really full. So keep trying - I would think you could get something that week. I tried on a daily basis and finally even got a discount for Halloween. You just have to be persistent

School starts back January 4, 2011 in Florida.

I've been trying online to book any weekend in January. Nada. Something is very rotten because the Fort traditionally is e-m-p-t-y in January.

That's been our observations the three or four times we have stayed from mid Dec to the end of Jan and it usually starts around Wed to Fri before the Marathon. Not sure what weekend it is next year, but is generally around the 5 to the 12th of Jan IIRC.

That won't work if the issue is Marathon related since the length of the ressie is not the issue the actual dates are and the first couple of weeks of Jan that are the topic being discussed in this thread based on what I know and others is mainly Marathon driven.

FYI-we'll be @ the Ft. 1/2-1/9/2011. We live in Seminole County and we go back to school 1/10/11. We get out late this year. 12/22/10. It makes up for us not being able to go Thanksgiving week. Seminole County usually gets Thanksgiving week off school so I had to adjust the schedules. We're hoping to see some decorations.
