We will be leaving the ship around 9:00 AM and going straight to the airport.Unfortunately our flight does not leave till 6:30 PM. Does anyone know if we can check our luggage in that early or will we need to lug them around the airport with us?Thank you. :earsboy:

You didn't say if you were flying out of Orlando or west coast. I know that a lot of people who have a late flight out of Orlando check into the airport Hyatt for a day rate. They get a room to relax in, use the pool etc. and leave there luggage in while they visit the shops etc. Maybe that could work for you.

Most all airports do not allow you to "check your luggage" within two hours. In Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood Airport it is two hours.

When we just flew out of LAX, we could not check in our luggage until four hours of the departure.

I would call the airlines and they can tell you what the regulations are in Orlando airport.

This is all since 9/11

It seems to me that you check your luggage right there at the port (there are representatives from the major airlines). Then you get on the DCL bus to the airport and you don't worry about your luggage again till you get off the plane. This was in Florida. Don't know about the California set up.

I never even gave this a thought. We disembarked the ship at 9:00 am, checked our luggage through to our airline right at the port, took our transfer to the airport and became Tom Hanks in the Terminal because our flight never left until 5:30. I never thought about that being a problem with our flight so late. But...we left out of Orlando. I agree, check with your airline.

What is the appromiate cost of a day rate at the hotel?

The day rate was $75 in January 2005, but I have read that it is now slightly higher. It's a great value if your flight home is later in the afternoon. They have a nice outdoor pool and you can relax before getting on the plane.

We flew out of Orlando in May and could not check luggage before 6 hrs prior to flight time. Had to sit around 45 min. to 1 hour with all of our bags before we could check them.

We will be flying out of Orlando. The Hyatt day rate is $89 plus tax. Would the luggage check-in be different for every airline or is it pretty much the decision of the airport? ::MickeyMo
