I have a 3G iPhone on o2. I wondered can they be unlocked to use on another network?

Yes it's possible - just fill out this form and O2 will unlock it for you.

If you're on contract then it's free

It didn't when I did it a year or two ago...

The software isn't "O2 specific" in anyway so I can't see any reason why that would have changed. You just fill the form out and your phone magically becomes unlocked - you don't have to do anything to your phone from what I remember.

Once you fill out the form, you'll get a text telling you its been unlocked. When this happens put the other networks sim in and connect to itunes to complete the unlocking
