to loose 15lbs by October 28?

Hi everyone! :wave2: I just started looking at these threads today and can I say that EVERYONE is amazing to want to change their lifestyle and be as fit as possible!

And now, I want to be that too! My wedding is in 88 days, on October 28 and try as we might, we BOTH have lost the weight loss fight up to this point. But NO MORE. I am putting my foot down and not letting this weight control me anymore and I want to look as best I can for the most important day of my life. I have a lot more than 15lbs to loose before I am at an ideal or even personal goal weight, but I think that those 15lbs could really help me feel as beautiful as I do on the inside on my wedding day. Can I do it in such a small amount of time? Do you have any suggestions, hints, tips? We have started playing tennis 3 days out of the week and going to the gym the rest of the time but it never seems like we are burning enough calories either way!
Our other issue is that we give in to the others whines and whims. How do you say no to the person who lights up your life?

So here is to us, all of us, on our way down the weight scale!

You really can never "burn enough calories" unless you are also restricting and/or watching/counting the calories that are coming in.

It is totally possible to lose 15 pounds by October 28. 1-2 pounds a week is a healthy and obtainable goal. When I started Weight Watchers (which I highly recommend to you--they will teach you a lot about portion sizes and how many calories/points you should be eating) I lost about 10 pounds a month. It's doable. Good for you for getting serious. Even if you lose a small amount, you will feel better on your wedding day.

Congratulations, BTW!

Thanks so much for the encouragement! I have tried WW before and for some reason it didn't stick. I think mostly because we are planning a wedding and the weekly fee could go someplace else right now so I stopped going. But I still have all the information so I guess I can do it without the meetings and have my own meeting once a week with my fiance. Another married couple are doing a fitness challenge with us. We are trying to keep each other motivated! I just wish my cubby cheeks would go away so my wedding pictures I don't look so pudgy!

Congrats on your wedding. I was also married on October 28 and this will be our 17th anniversary. We are actually planning a trip then (also first visit to Disneyland) because DH's cousin's daughter is getting married October 28 so we could not skip that wedding!!!!
I think 15 is doable. I am hoping to lose 15 by then too. That is about 5 a month so it is very reasonable. I have done WW in the past too and it worked but I did not keep it off. I did South Beach last year and did keep most of that off so I think that 'way' of eating works for me. It is basically a good carb emphasis and good proteins - veggies, fruit, whole grains, lean meat, eggs, low fat dairy - You do lose quickly in the first few weeks - as with WW - and then it keeps going. What I found with South Beach is it really tells me what I can eat and gives me freedom with the rest. That works for me, but we are all different. Like others said. 1-2 lbs a week is doable and safe. It seems slow but when you look at it you have about three months so it is doable.
GOOD LUCK October bride!

Thats great that we'll have the same date! I'm so excited about my wedding it's unbelievable!!
My girlfriend really swore up and down about South Beach and gave me her book about it. Sometimes, with all the diet "advice" out there, it can be overwhelming to figure out what will work for you. I'm hoping to work on just cutting calories and increasing activity for the time being.

Welcome and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!! :goodvibes

October 28 MUST be a great day because of your wedding, calena's anniversary, and it's my birthday!! :sunny:

Your goal is VERY do-able and it sounds like you're on track with a good plan. Exercise and portion control is a great way to reach your goal. I've been making similar choices since June 12th of this year, and I've been pleased with the results so far. I can't tell you how many pounds lost since I haven't stood on a scale, but I can tell you that I've lost a lot of inches!!

You'll look beautiful in your wedding pictures. Keep checkin' in here for support/advice and fun as you begin this healthy lifestyle!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
